FreeBSD port build - patch to build 1.65-dev1

Folks,
a patch can be found at http://univac.homeunix.org/index.html#patch
to build the 1.65-dev1 tarballs within the FreeBSD ports skeleton for Oolite. I'll improve this as time permits.

FreeBSD, 1.65-dev1 tarballs & initial experience

After a little 'manipulation' of files within the port skeleton, I've successfully built "1.65-dev1" from the tarballs that are posted on Berlios. My initial observation is that, whilst looking aft, if I jetison cargo (slaves, picked up after dealing with a fugitive in the neighbourhood), ...

Under RISCOS, each app was mapped in at 0x8000, running up to the top of current application memory (variable), and was the only *app* mapped at the time, the others being 'outside' of the memory map. The main problem area was the RMA, but when we tried write-protecting it, too much broke (mainly 3r...

At an application level, you're technically correct, but well written applications in a cooperative MT environment often result in the delivery of a better end-user experience, since the app that you're interacting with typically can get more CPU time, since it'll be receiving more events. As you sa...

Your explaination makes a lot of sense, and it's good of you to share what you've done. I'll see what I can do re using the Wiki for sharing my small efforts. Never did much with NetBSD - so I probably can't help, but I do remember the comments that the engineers who were in my team at Pace made abo...

Winston: PERL script - 'rather vile'... just remember, "there's more than one way to do it"... VILE is VB script, which I've had the misfortune to try to use at work... Spooky: that's right - my only issue with your binaries is the classic 'binary distro' problem of library versions...

Re: New development release - 1.64-dev1

Would it be too much of a pain for you to make src & data tarballs available, as you've done previously? My reason for asking is that, to date, building new FreeBSD versions within the port skeleton has just been a matter of downloading the new tarballs, and updating the distinfo & Makefiles...

Building v1.62-3 on FreeBSD-6-stable

Sorry for the slight change in direction, here, but it's very simple to get the 1.62-3 version to build on FBSD-6, using the skeleton in ports - 3 changes required in total. New distinfo file, obviously; 1 line modification to Makefile (PREFIX); and a 1 line patch to single source file (SDL/SDL.h). ...
