Yay! Another poll which gives me the supreme joy of being the only person to click Other.
I run Oolite on FreeBSD, IRIX and Windows 7. Although I only really spend any time playing on my FreeBSD workstation, because it's better than doing my actual job.

Re: Yes, but does it run Oolite?....
Running Oolite on odd hardware... don't mind if I do
Actually this might be quite difficult due to the graphics hardware being OpenGL ES. Once I get my hands on one I'll definitely have a bash though.

Re: Problem building 1.75.2 and trunk
Ahruman, Indeed and I don't disagree, however in this instance the problem looks like it's being caused by Oolite's GNUmakefile. Particularly the order in which GCC is parsing the compiler environment flags, it seems that the specified LIBJS flags are being overwritten by nspr. I have tweaked the fo...

Re: Problem building 1.75.2 and trunk
Yes! We have success. Splendid work chaps, thanks for your help. Despite not being in my environment gcc is using the the system spiermonkey headers instead of the bundled static ones.
Time to investigate where these are coming from.
Thanks again,

Re: Problem building 1.75.2 and trunk
another_commander and Ahruman, I would recommend attempting a make of Oolite with debug=no I have tried this both ways, on both machines. I have also tried it with release as well as checking out the whole trunk again from scratch. I'm pretty sure this is not the problem. Does deps/Cross-platform-de...

Re: Problem building 1.75.2 and trunk
Hi another_commander, Thanks for replying. Which version of Spidermonkey are you using? It looks like it may not the one from Firefox 4. Another possibility is that your Spidermonkey is the correct version but not the right build type. If you are building Oolite with debug=yes I am using the bundled...

Problem building 1.75.2 and trunk
Hi, I'm trying to do a trunk (and 1.75.2 from berlios) build on FreeBSD 8.2 amd64. I'm using the current ports of GNUstep and I'm getting some pretty confusing build errors. svn co http://svn.berlios.de/svnroot/repos/oolite-linux/trunk/ U trunk Checked out revision 4577. cd trunk gmake -f Makefile d...

No! No! No!
Mr Wagar, you are my nemesis. My rage burns with the fury of a thousand dying suns. How dare you! How very dare you!
Do you have any idea how far away Christmas 2011 is? DO YOU??!?
I hate waiting.
(Translation: Thank you! This was a fantastic read, I await Finis with baited breath.)

Re: Oolite Multiplayer? Please read
I'm still not endorsing Oolite MP but why client/server? Probably better peer-to-peer where everybody has an agreed common view of the Ooniverse - ships, weapons, system(s) pre-downloaded. Then positions, orientations, velocities, weapons firing are multicast to the participating players to deal wi...

Re: Oolite Multiplayer? Please read
Perhaps not a complete re-write, maybe it is possible to just write a LAN-play OXP then just use some VPN to simulate LAN w As a member of group of people who were actually daft enough to try this and failed miserably I would definitely put my vote in for a complete rewrite being required. There is...

Suggestions for building 1.75 on FreeBSD and other unixy-os
Hi all, Firstly congrats on 1.75, it's proper luuuuurvely. I'm waiting for 1.76 stable with baited breath. I would like to most humbly offer a couple of suggestions for the build process, however I'm posting this here and not in the suggestion box since the following cliche is probably true - "...

Re: Statement of Intent (oo... grand, eh?) - Incursio
This is fantastic news. I still pop in now and then to see what's going on the in Ooniverse and this has just made my year (Ok, so it's January... what's your point?). Any chance of getting "The Trilogy", once completed, in a super sexy limited edition hardback? My book case is crying out ...
