Would this be relevant? Re: Issue with moving exhausts

https://i.postimg.cc/0NDsv347/image.png Arrow indicates where the gap has developed Cannot see that image. But looking again - yes there is something. Much smaller than I had expected when watching first time. Remains the question whether it is a ship modeling issue or something from the Oolite core.

Re: Issue with moving exhausts

TBH I cannot see an issue there.

The ship's back is quite dark so you do not see it. But looking at it's shape I can see the background exhausts following the ship conture where they are obstructed so it is ok for me.

I am using the Imperial Courier and do not see issues there as well.

Please have a look at OoliteStarter v0.1.31-furbelow.2
@arquaebus @phkb: Have you had a chance looking at that new release? Are the issues you brought up covered, or is there further work necesary?

Re: Sizes and scale in Oolite (again)

The old chestnuts are the best! Speaking of which... Actually I was also wondering about scale and size of this ship... As long as it's not armed with one of those 'Seismosteller Triggering Devices'. They can be nasty. Here the scale should get visible: https://youtu.be/WYWpQPU1Wfw?t=4133 And I am ...

Re: Sizes and scale in Oolite (again)

You seem to have a point. And then I look at the death star whis is claimed to have 200 km in diameter. Unknown crew though. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_Star In a Coriolis station I'd consider at most the outer surface, away from the axis of rotation to be habitable - in respect to gravita...

Re: Sizes and scale in Oolite (again)

Just to think through the above. Hiran's comparison ( very helpful - a useful starting point) 1) The aircraft carrier is much smaller than a Coriolis. (The greatest dimension, length is 1/3 that of the diameter of a Coriolis). 2) The aircraft carrier does not carry the families of the servicemen (I...

Re: Sizes and scale in Oolite (again)

Does anybody have any idea as to how many people one would expect to find on a Coriolis station ? 1km x 1km x 1km... No idea. But I'd compare it a bit to Aircraft Carriers. They are a base for planes and provide all the infrastructure these planes need. Including crew and the infrastructure they ne...

Re: Latest Oolite 1.90 on Debian 10

Do I understand correctly the FPS rate is not only used to render the graphics but resembles the speed of the game loop and therefore the rate for polling the input devices? Render fps and game logic ticks are decoupled, the game can tick up to a minimum of 0.25 sec (which is why you will never see...

Re: Latest Oolite 1.90 on Debian 10

Looks like you are running on software 3D acceleration; this framerate is extremely low and carries tremendous input lag, which probably explains why keys need to be presses more than once sometimes. Do I understand correctly the FPS rate is not only used to render the graphics but resembles the sp...

I'm a Java programmer and would be happy to see everything ported to it, maybe I'll try to do that in the near future.
Welcome aboard! We do already have some items covered which you can build on.
OoliteStarter is based on Java and comes with installers for all three operating systems.
