Re: Oolite Flavours
Galactic OXPs The argument against the first is that of too many flavours - and - not everybody will use OS (us AppleMacists, for example). I'm sorry but I do not understand why AppleMacists would not use it. Is there someone who could describe the issue? In a nutshell, can't get it to start Oolite...

Re: Oolite Flavours
Not quite. The idea is to have just the one collection of all the OXPs which "add" specifically to G2 (eg: the Ionics mission in NE G2, the Isis Interstellar station in G2, the Shrews Rights mission in G2, etc). Thus one can play Vanilla G2 - or go for the tutti-frutti G2. That way, one n...

Re: Oolite Flavours
Hmmm. I am not sure what I am thinking. The level of the question exceeds my knowledge. While I know we have expansion, an expansions manager and meanwhile flavours to install expansions in flocks I am unsure what combination of them is meaningful. You might as well ask me how to write characters, h...

Re: oolite.space on web.archive.org
While we could assume version control of our website might be sufficient it's purpose and access are different. If someone searches for Oolite he may well find historic versions on the internet archive. Finding our site's history in our git repository is unlikely. Thus I believe it is worth allowing...

Re: oolite.space on web.archive.org
Timer has done a very good job in the past, but his time is limited. The task is more HTML related than into programming. If he gave hints what to look at, who could help finishing off that goal? Yes. Time and/or skills are limited. Those of us who have more skills, have less time, and vice versa, ...

Re: Hull damage
I still cannot repair my ship. After buying large cargo bay, i started loose 70 max speed everytime i leave a station. Removing all oxp doesn't change the problem. I really want to play it, but atm its to buggy. I am wondering whether it is possible to 'replay' your situation. What is your OS? Vers...

Re: 1pm 7th July 2024 - Oolite Anniversary Party (London)
Surely participating in such a party would be an unparalleled experience (for me). But it takes me near three months (ideal) only to get a visa... But I don’t give up on this idea - besides, one pilot invited me to visit for tea ;) How about organising a "Roolite" do somewhere closer to y...

Re: oolite.space on web.archive.org
difficult question... in theory, I can try to create a truly static version, maybe I can even build it (create automatic) from the current one, but doing this within the current implementation of the site is probably too difficult - it would be easier to try to create it on a separate domain like s...

Re: oolite.space on web.archive.org
Here is some technical information about the Internet Archive / Wayback machine: https://help.archive.org/help/using-the-wayback-machine/ On the page I found this: Why are some sites harder to archive than others? If you look at our collection of archived sites, you will find some broken pages, miss...

With the above assumptions I found now two pages that should answer the question what has changed in that timeframe. only-static: https://github.com/OoliteProject/oolite-web/commits/only-static/?before=3cc02037b888c5b94f4b2c258ac40c928065e647+140 only-media: https://github.com/OoliteProject/oolite-w...

Re: oolite.space on web.archive.org
Apparently the last good scan was on 22JUL2023. The next happened one month later, so at 22AUG2023 and is no longer considered good. As partly scans are still possible I doubt we locked out robots or anything similar. Thus I'd look at changes to the site's content. And that is stored at https://gith...

Re: Autopilot for Oolite
Yes I also believe what he achieved could have been done better in an OXP. He took a different approach and that's what I like: He controlled Oolite without requiring internal knowledge. He used simply Bash and a few command line tools. Likely I'd not try to OXP this as that would be quite a lock-in...

Re: oolite.space on web.archive.org
That website is under version control.
Do we have events in the range of last good scan and first partly scan?
