Trying to jump and cancel the countdown does not make all the escorts and fighters I have on the Imperial Star Destroyer come back reliably.
Often I end up with countless (I did not even try to count) numbers of cancelled countdowns.
Is that the only option?

You can record video of the game with the Windows Gamebar shortcut keys. <Windows>+<Alt>+R starts the recording, the same combination stops it. Oops. I tried this days the Imperial Star Destroyer. Perhaps the ILS-System doesn´t work with the Shuttle? You guessed it straight away. Amazing... :-) It´s more about captaining than piloting a ship. True, flying the destroyer is not only about piloting, it is also about commanding the escorts and fight...

Another thing I noticed is that I can no longer use the fuel generator. It used to respond on pressing zero on the alphanumerical keyboard. Pressing that key now rotates between possible targets. Having tried the other ~140 plugins in combination the gameplay is actually like before - I do not really miss the ILS. On the other hand the shuttle can take ages to dock.
