Finally I was able to create something. The zipped output directory is about 6 MB.
How can I share that with others who are online here?

Re: Oolite interaction with Expansion Packs
Again a pitfall: http://wiki.alioth.net/img_auth.php/8/85/Trident_Down_2.5.2.oxz // Content/equipment.plist has XML content. This speciality seems to be lurking potentially everywhere... so I decided to dodge them for now and found another interesting artifact: http://wiki.alioth.net/img_auth.php/5/...

Re: Oolite interaction with Expansion Packs
http://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/OXP_howto might be helpful - with the exception of manifest.plist (and the deprecated requires.plist and info.plist) all PLists must go in the Config subfolder of the OXP. That page has a full list of which plists are supported for OXP use, mostly documented ... as ...

Re: BigSur and Oolite
The nightlies are built by automated scripts created by Getafix and there are at least two servers involved in their creation. Sometimes the Mac nightly needs to be kicked off manually, but the Windows and Linux ones are fully automatic. Also, there is some basic CI activity in the project. Every c...

Re: Laser Combat Reimagined OXZ
As regards Redspear's rejigging and his new Burst laser: I am utterly bamboozled by the jigs, rejigs, rerejigs and rererejigs. The resulting hebetation of the intellect precludes any analysis of the matter. My advice: give up jigging! Go for the Gavotte!! I specifically recommend the Galaedian Gavo...

Re: BigSur and Oolite
If we can create the infrastructure to have scenarios repeated and verified in an automated fashion, some of them can be created for Oolite itself and then for extensions wherever need be. Over time these could act as regression tests. And since Oolite and the OXPs run on different platforms, the w...

Re: Oolite interaction with Expansion Packs
I'm not sure if I understand everything that ObjectiveC offers. So far I found out that these files are being loaded from an OXP: // OXPMessages.plist // nebulatextures.plist // startextures.plist // equipment.plist // equipment-overrides.plist // requires.plist or manifest.plist // whitelist.plist ...

Re: [Test release:] Super-Sidewinder(!) (and other OXPs updated)
Did I just miss it or is there really no wiki page for this ship ? :?: I can certainly put one up. But if it is on the Expansions Manager, might it make more sense to wait for Hiran to perform his supreme feat of wiki-page mass production (before descending on it with a perfervid tweaking frenzy su...

Re: Laser Combat Reimagined OXZ
Redspear: I've just amplified the entries on the 4 basic lasers (pulse, beam, military & mining) on the wiki with links to relevant oxp's including yours. Please take a quick look and make sure that my summaries of them are not misleading! I just took a look and really welcome the possibility t...

Re: Oolite Wiki
I'd like to rewrite (unless someone else is desperate to!) and include the new key-commands for the F8 screen. Bung the Classic Elite content on a new page for Classic Elite. While I know classic elite I never played it much (I did not have the game for the computer my father bought). But I liked t...

Re: Oolite Wiki
Hiran, I've rejigged the Oolite Equipment page to try and answer your comments. Could you have a quick decko and let me know if it's any better? Looks better to me indeed. I'd be able to find my way through, and some of the wisdom shared in the chat has made it's way into the wiki. Very helpful. :-)

Re: Oolite interaction with Expansion Packs
Scripts are only one part of the data Oolite reads in order to get its universe set up. The other main data that is used is property lists. These are the files with the weird syntax you have already encountered and written a parser for. Plists contain data mainly in the form of arrays and dictionar...

Re: BigSur and Oolite
Change it, test, see what breaks, fix, repeat. In this case its a bit worse because its multi platform and its about supporting an extention framework so "regression testing" is horrible. a way to verify successful operation Good question, how would someone know? All 300 or so OXPs work f...

Re: Oolite interaction with Expansion Packs
A first evaluation revealed this: I scanned 682 expansions in total and simply counted how many times I would find a path inside. This report is stripping off all paths with less than 4 occurrences. What can be seen from here is that a lot of OXPs actually use similar paths - even where it would not...

Re: BigSur and Oolite
This sounds like heavy lifting. However if that piece of work were written down onto a roadmap, with enough hints what to look for and a way to verify successful operation I think it could be done by people interested and having knowledge in JavaScript and Objective-C integration but no need to unde...
