Re: [RELEASE] Telescope OXP v1.15
Two questions. 1) I can set Telescope's options to detect up to 200 items. What on earth is the point of this? I can't seem to get the MFD to show me anything other than the 10 nearest. There seems to be no scroll function. What am I missing? 2) What difference does the small dish make? Again, it s...

Right. Well if you are suffering from chiplessness/crisplessness and desperately looking for something to do, please sneak a peek at this: http://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/Oolite_Trading I wrote it with you in mind, and would appreciate some feed-back. Is it clear enough? Even if your English was l...

And I thought you said that you were going to sit quietly at the back munching on your crisps! What is this?!
Well, I ran out of chips.

Re: Recovering "Lost" OXPs
However I will create it only if there is demand. Thinking about this. If we get drowned in a morass of files/information, it probably won't do too much good. I would guess that only a minority of OXPs actually do any of the 3 things on the list. And I don't even understand what the second one refe...

Re: Science Fiction Trivia
OK, since we went there with my last answer, let's have five SF works or settings in which humans have alien (or otherwise non-human but NOT robotic / android) sexual partners. Would this one qualify? https://64.media.tumblr.com/470f59e38d585dbc6fe6d819ee960e28/tumblr_mxziroVcp11qfigugo1_250.gif ht...

Re: Recovering "Lost" OXPs
Apologies: I'm not sure that I understand what you are saying! Ok, maybe I am a bit too fast. Situations like this are very close to my earth-based day job. The question that came up is which OXPs overwrite which planets, since (I guess) if multiple OXPs overwrite the same planet the result may be ...

Re: Recovering "Lost" OXPs
How could one retrieve the list of planets in Oolite? I guess that would not be inside an OXP but maybe a plist on the core game? ./Applications/Oolite/oolite.app/Resources/Config/planetinfo.plist Next would be to identify how an OXP 'overwrites' a planet. .../Config/planetinfo.plist (see http://wi...

Re: Oolite Wiki: Neverending redness of Herrings
Teehee.. sounds like a whole new perspective on British socio-cultural development (and yes, I am (was?) British) *grin* Good you enjoy it here! Welcome to this strange forum where people who usually play wealths of their leisure time alone with a computer and dream about deep space once in a while...

Re: Oolite Wiki: Neverending redness of Herrings
Still, I am not sure if I can prevent my fingers from exploring down in the Oolite mechanics to find out how some epicyclic gearing might react to a firmly applied whack... You prefer geocentric epicycles to eccentrics? Was the great debate ever concluded before Copernicus came along? I believe ecc...

Re: Changing Key Mappings?
That's how it worked with the original Elite. The game for the BBC computer came with an overlay that fitted the keyboard. See here for overlay: https://www.frontierastro.co.uk/Elite/bbc/BBCSupTape.jpg - the white strip of card in the bottom right corner. It sat on top of the red function keys - se...

Re: Oolite Wiki: Neverending redness of Herrings
So... I've only ever used the Cobra III. I started with the tutorial. Made sure I understood the basic controls, manoeuvering and docking. I could not dodge the asteroids, so I didn't bother. As for the combat - don't even think about the mess I made of it! [...] Without quoting too much - this sou...

Re: Changing Key Mappings?
I think I just now understood the overlay functionality. That picture is meant to be printed, cut, folded, glued and just placed onto the real keyboard!
Really nice idea! _lol_

Re: Changing Key Mappings?
I wonder if that I didn't do it, nobody saw me do it, you can't prove anything! chap could come up with a Spanish layout? Do you suppose it would be Spanish, Catalan, Basque or Latin-American? Hmmm, all these input locales (aka keyboard drivers) do not rearrange the keys - they just change the inte...
