I'm not conflating anything - I meant the cases where the inhabitants of a specific planet are given both the "fierce" and "harmless" adjectives. See for example the inhabitants of Soinuste in Chart 1. Well spotted. To me, fierce signals intent whilst harmless refers to ability....
