I’d not realised that the pictures were all of the Lave main planet! I’d presumed that they were of each planet in the Lavean solar system.
We seem not to have many detailed moon textures. Strangers World only has 6. I saw no dedicated moon textures when I broke open your additional planets oxzs.

One presumes that the secondary planets would have smaller populations - and this smaller markets (demand & supply).
How long does it take in real time to fly from one to another? In Strangers World it can take 20-30 minutes.

But, yes, I agree with you. The in-game tutorial does not help with MFDs, for example. It is only for the vanilla game. And over the past 5 years we’ve attracted many younger people who never knew Elite (and who presumably drifted away again). And who seem to load up their game with a zillion-and-on...

I suppose I'm trying to turn oolite into a freelancer / freespace type game - and obviously it would be a massive and probably impossible undertaking.. but i think it would go down very well with youngsters / new players if there was an overarching 'purpose' One can presumably do this sort of thing...

In Strangers World the other planets are much further away and are tiny when seen from the witchpoint (or the main planet, or the sun).
I've yet to really try Norby's Far Planets. But it'll be similar, I'm sure.

Funnily enough, we need a new kettle (day to day we use a boiling water tap, I love it!) so maybe I’ll consider it! I also want to be able to have my smart lighting reflect my red alert status… How long are those contraptions good for? Are they designed to auto-kaputificate after a couple of years ...

As regards Docked HUDs it seems an immersive introduction for new players. And there are some nice little touches.
Only issue noticed so far is with changed HUDs using HUDSelector. On launch my changed HUD invariably reverts to vanilla.
