Re: Rocks in planet rings.

I'd rather like to second this. The planet rings are the only unsatisfactory part of the Oolite experience which I have stumbled across in two months of exploring the Ooniverse. The combination of the way that they just 'flip into sight' with their filmy nature and utter lack of substance just fails...

Re: Player credit balance changes when screen changes in Ship Outfitting

All jolly well for you! So they swindled you on the pretext that they were charging you for storage for an item which you had bought and that they were too indolent to fit promptly. Is this actionable? Can you sue them for fraud or embezzlement? We've got quite a good lawyer back on the family estat...

Oolite Wikipedia - some issues

Can't help but notice that the only effective method to whizz around the wikipedia is by using the search function. If, for example, one tries to read about Tionisla , one finds a choice of the following: Tionisla : basic information page which to my untutored eye seems relevant to Elite Dangerous r...

Re: Player credit balance changes when screen changes in Ship Outfitting

My dear chaps, that is absolutely nothing! No-o-o-othing!! I have now thrice been charged for various gizmos which somehow never turned up. After being marmalised by Marmaduke the Myrmidon in our last duel at my hunting lodge, Bertie the Belgian bamboozled me into getting one of those Target Autoloc...

Re: I'm new to Oolite

Thank you for replying! Actually I'm trying to tempt Erick Costa back onto the boards! _____________________________________________________ I'd toyed with including "Here Be Dragons" in my personal cocktail of OXPs. At the moment, it's quite irrelevant - my combat skills are so utterly fe...

Re: Audio fails

Just to mention that I've been having similar issues (not that I ever fight anything - I just revolve and leg it for the nearest exit - and then fantasise about marmalising the misbegotten sons of .....).

Hotas's & Applemacs: Issues with compatibility

Since I was enjoying Oolite so much, I decided to splurge on a Hotas to enrich the experience. Needless to say, the enrichment has proved a bit of a curate's egg. The Macintosh recognises all of the various buttons and hat switches BUT only 2 of the 5 axes : 'x' and 'y' on the joystick - but not 'z'...

Re: I'm new to Oolite

Just as a matter of interest, what did you end up doing? Did you persevere with the milk-runs? Did you restart with a new ship and a different set of expansions? Did you embark on some missions? Or begin exploring? Or commence a manic expansion modification spree? Or merely wander off into the wilde...

Re: The chronicles of Shulth - Apocrypha

Would anyone happen to know whether the "Chronicles of Shulth - Apocrypha" was ever published in an edited version? Or, indeed, what happened to the "Chronicles of Shulth - Exodus"? My own attempts to contact the esteemed author have - alas - plummeted into some sort of abyss of ...

Re: Fast Priming Keys

I'd been toying with the idea of linking the Elgato Stream Deck to the computer to handle some of these issues. Alas, I'm an utter neophyte as regards programming. Would I be correct in assuming from these high-falutin' discussions that one would be unable to immediately select the Market Inquirer M...

'Precision' flying problems

Macintosh Keyboard: The precision flying ‘control’ key does not work well on the modern macs - Your Oolite window whizzes off to the side, is replaced by another window and you suddenly find that you are looking at something quite different (your cobra may indeed be flying much more precisely - but ...

Alien Items: how does one locate a copy of this?

I was rather hoping to be able to read this collection of short stories, but all the links I have so far found seem to lead into parts of Witch-Space where I have been unable to follow. Can anyone advise how I can do this? Or contrariwise confirm that the Lord Chancellor's Department has indeed open...

Re: Introduce Yourself.

Just to say a hearty "Thank You" to those intrepid experts in matters computational who have enriched the dreaded lockdown period for me. I encountered Elite back in the late 80's on the BBC Micro. I stumbled across Oolite last year but never really looked into it. Now with a bit more time...
