Salutations!
Are you, by any chance, doing academic research into Video Gaming?
If you are, I would greatly appreciate it if you could possibly drop me a line.
Yours faithfully,
Cholmondeley

by F-P » Tue Oct 29, 2019 10:05 pm Ok, I may be accused of blasphemy here, but I was thinking wouldn't it be nice to have a peace time option. Where you can fly around trading and not have to fight your way to the next system, just relax and enjoy the fantastic scenery. I know there is the Populati...

Just to say, I spent half an hour last night exploring your cemetery - and enjoying every minute of it. Thank you! People used to do this 200 years ago looking for romantic inspiration (back in the days when people were interested in experiencing the 'sublime'). There were concurrently issues with b...

Re: I'm new to Oolite
No. your bias is good and clear - and you have clearly thought through how you want to play the game. Very informative. And a very useful analysis of the Expansions. Thank you for taking the time and effort to type it all up! Personally, I'm too new (two months) and am still trying to learn basic co...

Re: I'm new to Oolite
So which of the other expansions do you tend to favour? And which varieties have been translated for Roolite? Is it mostly the different varieties of ships, or the various modifications of the 'game mechanics', or the Dockables, or the HUDs or the various different weapons or the Ambiances or the va...

Re: I'm new to Oolite
I can assure you, your English is a darn sight better than my Russian! How did you stumble across Oolite? And how has your playing evolved over the past couple of years? Which aspects of the game did you enjoy then - what did you drift into - and what do you enjoy now? And what is it like flying gli...

Re: Milo's consolidated list of suggested core changes
Too many different versions of everything! Alas, I'm a Mac-man (or at least, I was 25 years ago!). I'll have to wait, methinks. Presumably it will either come out in the new version of Oolite - or else as an expansion. Or even as snippets of code (with instructions for utilisation that chaps like me...

Re: Milo's consolidated list of suggested core changes
Just saying, 10 (More options for extraction and conflicts in the expansion manager), 13 (more hotkeys for fast activation) 14 (Represent station on basic compass as a square) would make a major contribution to my game. I happen to think that 14 is actually rather important. If I can help test thing...

Re: Rocks in planet rings.
I'd rather like to second this. The planet rings are the only unsatisfactory part of the Oolite experience which I have stumbled across in two months of exploring the Ooniverse. The combination of the way that they just 'flip into sight' with their filmy nature and utter lack of substance just fails...
