Re: oolite.space on web.archive.org

That website is under version control. Do we have events in the range of last good scan and first partly scan? Hiran, if you're question is addressed to me... I'm sorry, but I don't even know what it means that a "website is under version control". Sorry, don't ask me, I don't know, I jus...

oolite.space on web.archive.org

Greetings, commanders! <o I have just discovered that oolite.space apparently does not save completely on web.archive.org anymore. https://web.archive.org/web/20230722190330/https://oolite.space/ was apparently the last good save. Since then, from a quick count, there have been approximately 20 part...

BBC manual 210mm x 149mm (likely 150 if curvature is accounted for).
No, more likely 148mm than 150mm. Specifically, A5 size.
Aahhh... a worthy consideration indeed.

Thank you, Wildeblood.

Re: Physical Dimensions of "Space Trader's Flight Training Manual"?

BBC manual 210mm x 149mm (likely 150 if curvature is accounted for). Spectrum 205mm x 144mm (likely 145 if flattened out). C64 206mm x 145mm (poss. 146 flattened). So the BBC version is slightly larger and sursprisingly the C64 version is a tiny bit bigger than the Spectrum version despite both bei...

Re: Metafiction: Dialogues on the Lore of Xlite

Best old Chum :) I'm just trying to come up with names for landing sites. Names rooted in the Lore where there is any ! As mentioned, the Lore I'm checking is purely on the wiki (Rough Guide pages & Galaxy Guide pages) and in the Famous Planets OXP's planetinfo.plist. Landing sites... planetinfo...

Re: Metafiction: Dialogues on the Lore of Xlite

Dear Commander Cholmondely The Dark Wheel , p. 17, par. 13, CHAPTER TWO: Rafe nodded. 'That's right, Alex,' he said softly. 'You can be deadly, you can be dangerous, and you can end up as pet food in orbit around a dog's ass-of-a-world like lsveve . But if you're elite, and you die, then there's a r...

Physical Dimensions of "Space Trader's Flight Training Manual"?

Greetings, commanders Would someone please be so kind as to measure for me (to 0.5mm or 0.3mm precision, if possible) the length and width of the front cover of a physical copy of the original 1984 Elite SBG38/B1 Space Trader's Flight Training Manual ? Measurements of any other versions/editions (cl...

Re: Metafiction: Dialogues on the Lore of Xlite

Greetings of hale be unto thee, Commander Cholmondely! Thy eschatological excellence! With Phkb's new version of PlanetFall, would you be interested in helping out with naming planetary sites (for a new version of Famous Planets)? This is not really my field of study at the moment, but I'll give it ...

Escape Pod also Restored on New Ship?

Please pardon my extreme noobish noobiness, but, in more than a decade of rather studying about than actually playing any kind of Elite, I have never yet found the answer to this question, and, therefore, I appeal to the superior practical experience of any commander(s) out there who would kindly pl...
