Re: tech level 1

come to think of it how did you know what system I am using! Spooky Not really, it's in the log. :D OK, I guesed it might be that but it ia a VERY long time since I posted my log, is it archived somewhere? The other point, I googled tread optomize etc and even found the nvidia help, but it was insu...

Re: tech level 1

About your random crashes. You've posted that this happens when pressing a button on your joystick and after seeing your GFX card (GeForce 9600) and 2 processors. It's just a wild guess (and I'm not a developer, so what do I know?) - does it still happening if you turn off the thread optimization o...

Re: tech level 1

The current version of Oolite is 1.75.2. This should not impact the native missions though, they certainly worked in version 1.74.2 as well. OXPs are enhancements of Oolite, they improve eye candy, add new ships, provide new missions, change the game mechanics etc. You can find general information ...

Re: tech level 1

Hi jimb… open your save-file in a text editor (preferably not Notepad, Wordpad will do)... in Windows it can be found here: ~\Oolite\oolite.app\oolite-saves. Find the <key>mission_variables</key> section and look for this line: <key>mission_conhunt</key> What does the next line after that say? It s...

Re: tech level 1

It seems I should have had several missions by now, not sure what I have done wrong. You should have been offered to hunt the Constrictor by now, if you stayed in G1. Which (if any) have you been offered? None, since getting into Oolite. I gave up a while ago because of regular random crashes, no o...

Re: tech level 1

Just to check: how's your legal status? I think you might need to be Clean to get offered the first built-in mission. It doesn't say so on the wiki, but ... I might be remembering it wrong, anyway. How dare you sir! I am as clean as the day I first wore my cadet anti-scari pants. But thanks for tre...

tech level 1

Hi,

I was thinking of getting a military shield but have never seen a tech 14 planet, I am in Galactic 2.

My current rating is 2301, I was expecting a mission by now, I was brought up on Elite on a BBC B back in the early 80's

Best wishes,
Jim

Re: V1.74.2 crashes every now and then

Taking that process one step at a time: if you follow the links, with any luck you'll get to a page containing something like: Download Oolite-trunk setup Windows (32bit): oolite-trunk-1.75.0.4324-dev.win32.exe (md5) You right click the name of the file & download & run it. You then magicall...

Re: V1.74.2 crashes every now and then

Hmm, the log isn't telling us anything useful. It looks like the crashes you're getting are 1) really nasty 2) happening in some totally unexpected places... The only thing I can think of is for you to try the nightly build which has got a bit more in the way of error tracking than what we had in 1...

Re: V1.74.2 crashes every now and then

AT last! Sorry about this, I have been posting and could not find any of my posts or the replies. I am using XP with 4 Meg Ram, I have NO OXP's that I know of. I used to run elite on BBC Acorn in the 80's and ran Oolite on a PC a few years ago. Just got back to it so not aware of a lot of the new st...

Re: screen obscured by messages

First of all hi Jimb, and welcome to the boards and of course to this great game! :D I've got the same question here as El Viejo. The Sticky-Messages-Bug™ is very familiar from Oolite 1.65, the latest 'official' release. However, we strongly recommend using the latest test release, which is Oolite ...
