Each Galaxy has its own ambiance that should not be spoiled in advance. You really should do a somewhat detailed tour of each Galaxy as you progress towards completing a full 8. The mark is always spawned between the witchspace beacon and main station. When you enter the target system, set your course straight to the main station and you should meet your mark on the way. Unless something derails them from the route or something. Thank you, now I can find the target easily....

I have tried the original version as well but there's no difference. BGS oxp don't add sounds for NPC as well. I even took a look at several oolite vieos in youtube and they didn't have NPCs' laser firing and explosion sound as well. I'm not sure is it really a bug, rather than the game itself don't...
