Re: [Testers wanted] Oolite as a flatpak

I have updated the repo to include both, the main version (master) and the nightly version (nightly). It seems, that you can not have both icons at the same time, although both versions can be installed in parallel. I am going to investigate, whether that's because they are named alike. When install...

Re: [Testers wanted] Oolite as a flatpak

Hi pritter! I started testing on a lubuntu 18.04 vanilla installation. (more distros will follow) You have already done a great work with flatpak and I am very optimistic for what is coming next. :D Here follow some observations to continue. 1. The repo methodology was used for this first test (the...

Re: [Testers wanted] Oolite as a flatpak

Sorry if I caused some misunderstanding. The requirement to meet flathubs standards is more like a quality assurance goal than an actual plan to submit Oolite to flathub. The major requirement would be to have a clean, self contained build wihout some of the hacks currently needed to make it work. T...

[Testers wanted] Oolite as a flatpak

Hi Oolite universe, I recently started exploring immutable operating systems (like Project Atomic) and flatpak as a distribution method. I thought, it would be nice to also play Oolite on Atomic Workstation, so I started investigation ways to package oolite as a flatpak. Since some people asked for ...

Re: [Split] Distro vs oolite.org binaries

OK thanks, sounds all right. Something that would be really cool would be the ability to integrate flatpak builds also for the nightlies. I guess we'll have to provide the nightly scripts we use in order for this to be even attempted, maybe Getafix can give some input here. I studied the GitHub rep...

Re: [Split] Distro vs oolite.org binaries

Thanx for sharing your work here. 8) How can I get my hands on the flatpak you have made? (drooling penguin) No problem. I am going to create a new topic with all the links and some information on how to use/test. You can start with https://gitlab.com/paulritter/flatpak-oolite there should be build...

Re: [Split] Distro vs oolite.org binaries

Hi, thanks for the feedback. I guess I should provide some more details. First of all, I have to say that I am very happy with the universal installer Oolite provides. I works very well, and I never had an issue. The only reason I looked into flatpak was that I want to switch to atomic workstation. ...

Flatpak build available

I hope, it's still relevant: I managed to successfully build a flatpak'ed version of Oolite. It's not as beautiful as I had envisioned, but the build succeeds. I haven't done any testing of the app itself so far, but I have an automated build for a flatpak repo. Before going down that path and relea...
