Re: Chatty passengers

A "Suspicious Passengers" OXP would be interesting. Passengers on the run from the law, willing to pay big bucks, and the player has Fugitive legal status until the passenger is dropped off.

Re: Tales from the spacelanes...

I picked up a parcel that I can drop off on the way to my passengers destination, can't complain about 300 credits for free. :) I've always wanted a Suspicious Passengers OXP, where criminals pay big bucks for passenger contracts. But of course, Galcop will gun for a player with an illegal passenger...

Re: Tales from the spacelanes...

Yes, I saw those and wasn't quite sure what to make of them. It really has been a while.

How much could I put in the bank running parcel contracts? A little bit of pocket change or quite a bit of credits?

Re: Tales from the spacelanes...

I've been away from oolite for, oh, about three years now. Real life has a nasty way of throwing every curve ball in the book sometimes. Well, that's the way of the world, and the best we can do is make a good life for ourselves and not let our fears hold us back. Ahem, at any rate... Fired up the o...

Laenin to Xexedi -- try doing a couple misjumps going both ways on that if you want to see real insanity on distances. One of my favorite milk runs. I really hate it when I see two planets that are so close that they look like they are joined together. I just tell myself it's a binary star ...

Re: need oolite creds!!

I've been pulling in a lot of credits lately via a little thing I like to call Q-bomb Surprise. Install the Assassins Guild OXP and head over to your nearest Seedy Spacebar. If you're lucky, there will be a lot of pilots flying around with less-than-clean legal statuses. Line up and move in as if yo...

Re: Missile question

I've gotten bit in the butt by depleted shields often in the past. Just the other day, I was VERY close to an enemy ship when he released the missile, and in my confidence I decided to plow into it like a man. Forgot my shields were down, and press space commander. I have never seen one of my hardhe...

Sad thing is, when (if) Elite IV ever comes out, Oolite will be better.

Re: Oolite Darwin Awards

I ran into a fierce firefight on my way to the main station. The pirates had a Boa and her escorts outnumbered and outgunned, but those civilians put on quite a fight, and it was my obligation to assist. Despite our best efforts, the Boa went down, but I pulled up just in time to see the captain eje...

Re: Passenger/cargo contracts cease to exist

I think I've found the problem-- removing the "Captain Bert, Engineer" OXP results in the F8-F8 screen being populated once again. I have no idea why or how that particular OXP would cause such a problem.
