Re: [release] Newt's Mining IFF Scanner Upgrade

That sorted things out nicely. Just had a very quick mine with the new equipment installed. Have to say it's a great, simplistic but very well thought out and effective solution for mapping out your route and next target when mining. Well done! No more zipping off course after what you think (when ...

Re: [release] Newt's Mining IFF Scanner Upgrade

Thanks for that. Please forgive my ignorance in this matter ( I am lazy and use the doanload manager for all my oxps) but could you help me a little further please as I have 2 folders named AddOns associated with oolite. The first is located /home/usrname/GNUstep/Applications/Oolite/AddOns The seco...

Re: [release] Newt's Mining IFF Scanner Upgrade

I would love to be able to install this oxp as I do mine quite a bit but unfortunately the download manager always spits it's dummy out when attempting to do so (Download failed! See Latest.log). I am running 1.84 on a linux system (manjaro), should I be able to download this oxp? That's because yo...

Re: Pods OXP

You must include a "people pod" that informs the player that they have been replaced by an exact replica of themselves that points and screams at other ships that have not picked up such a pod.

Re: Ore Processor

Oh. And if someone seriously wants to take this oxp over, give it some love and much needed attention, I'm more than happy to step aside  . Yes, I'd like to take over this OXP. I'm a carebear at heart ( EVE online reference there ) and I like my mining vessels and features. I'm probably a ...

Re: Ore Processor

I'm sorely tempted by the idea of taking over Ore Processor. I really like the slag idea and making it a further upgrade to the ore processor. It's exactly what I had in mind. I've already mixed together sounds for the scanning and processing that I like better and added them to my custom version of...

Re: Ore Processor

I can still remember scratching my head with this one :). As phkb says, almost anything is possible. The processed goods can easily be converted into pods and jewels moved to the safe. However I felt that it was more immersive if this kind of magic would not happen. No stack of empty pods waiting t...

Re: Ore Processor

It does explain a reasoning behind it, yes, thank you. :D If I were to have a go at it though, and I have given it thought, I would put the precious metals and gems automatically in "the safe" and clog the cargo bay with a new material one might call "waste" as the remains, less ...

Re: Ore Processor

I'm hesitant to commit an act of Necromancy. But I don't want to assume that Ore Processor is unmaintained. I have an issue with Ore Processor: My refined commodities have too much mass. As you can see my cargo is at 30 of 35 ton capacity yet I only have 17t of cargo ( 12 Alloys, 4 radioactives and ...

Re: [release?] (tentative) Newt's Mining Scanner Upgrade

It might be related to the OS, because we've been through a long saga in order to get https downloads to work through the manager (See this thread for all the details). Are you using v1.85 of Oolite, or v1.84? If you're on 1.84, this will definitely be the issue. If you're using 1.85, though, there...

Re: [release?] (tentative) Newt's Mining Scanner Upgrade

I have just found that there was more to the error message than I realised. I installed beer cooler. Checked latest log. Then tried to install my mod and checked latest log. The difference was this: 23:19:03.327 [gnustep]: 2017-09-05 23:19:03.327 oolite[23734] Attempt to use SSL/TLS without support....

Re: [release?] (tentative) Newt's Mining Scanner Upgrade

I just tried via the manager and it installed fine. What I did do was try downloading in a couple of different browsers - Chrome was fine, but Firefox (with No-Script) complained about a cross-site scripting issue and refused to download it. Not sure if that helps, though. Downloads from the direct...
