Re: [FIX/WORK-AROUND] Ubuntu, Rudder Pedals, and Oolite

http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l186/RattanRadio/OHCP_Oolite.jpg It isn't anything all that fancy. A very cheap way of making on overhead panel copied from the way some flight simmers do it. It's a cheap USB keyboard, turned upside down (so the layout doesn't seem so much like a regular keyboard)...

Re: [FIX/WORK-AROUND] Ubuntu, Rudder Pedals, and Oolite

evtest seems to be for things like drawing tablets. joystick was useful, since I needed to add some calibration. I've got it working! :D More of a workaround than a fix, but it did the trick. I hooked up a joystick that has always worked well with Oolite to set the functions, then just switched back...

[FIX/WORK-AROUND] Ubuntu, Rudder Pedals, and Oolite

So I was wandering through a second-hand shop on an odd little world called "Dirt" or something like that.. And I caught sight of a fairly large box with a logo that was the word ELITE framed in a set of wings. Of course that got my attention. Turned out to not be some release of the game ...

Thanks El Viejo. I already grabbed Random Ship Names and it is a cool addition. Escort Formations, you say? I'll check it out.

Re: (NEW RELEASE) NumericHUDv3.oxp

Splendid work, V3 is quite impressive! I am just collecting up OXPs to outfit my new copy of Oolite after a rather long hiatus, and this was one of the very first I came looking for. I hoped it was updated, but didn't expect this degree of evolution. Trim, sleek and very functional.

Re: Girls play oolite?

Well, even in shooter games there are some female players. Some of them can be astoundingly lethal, and certainly not people to underestimate. LOL Definitely agreed, however, that Oolite is not "just a shooter" game. But it would be very interesting someday to see what it could be like if ...

Wow! From the looks of that explosion, they may have had a litre of Rizalaian lethal brandy onboard. (Hey, they call it "lethal" for a reason, y'know..)

Re: Blocky ship sizes

Maybe instead of external engine nacelles or whatever for a mothership, if at least some of the escorts docked in clamps on the outside it could free up some internal "cargo" space for other ships. While in the docking clamps, the ships could function as engine nacelles, and help the speed...

Re: A hint for traders

I'm a little lazier than using a wee notepad, I usually just take a screenshot at the main station when I'm going to kick back and "farm" a single system for a bit. If you also have one of the OXPs that adds other planets and moons, it can make for quite an in-system market, altogether. In...

Darkest Planet

http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news ... ce-kepler/

Just the idea of a gas giant that is mostly coal black and glows a dim red sorta begs for a story or an OXP or something.

Re: Free AI course

Well, a new copy of the current revision of the textbook is a bit pricey. But they say they support all the revisions (though #3, the current one, is recommended). I found a used copy of revision two online for about 20$, and ordered it already.

Re: Free AI course

I've signed up for the notification of when to sign up, since the actual sign-up isn't open yet. I've been wanting to get back into coding and update my skill set a bit, since one of my personal goals is to eventually write an Oolite OXP. I can code a bit, but I learned way back in the "spaghet...

The link pretty much explains it. And here I'd just been thinking I should find a course or two to take this fall.
