Re: Scooping gold, platinum and gemstones
I like the trade mark! I lost the thrust of what I was saying earlier in the thread; I wasn't for a moment saying we should scoop a tonne of platinum on a regular basis, the argument was more like this. Oolite wants you to chuck 1000 kg of platinum into a far larger space for some reason or ot...

Re: Scooping gold, platinum and gemstones
Yes, I see that but it's not volume, it's specifically mass - 1 tonne - that's shifted out of the safe into the hold where the volume argument is more relevant perhaps. So I'm not sure that it does all sort itself out. Most aspects of it do, probably, and I'm not even particularly disagreeing with t...

Re: Scooping gold, platinum and gemstones
I can see the point, Eric, in part; you scoop a canister and don't know what's there until you dock. As for shuffling an excess out of the safe, that's more of an issue. Gold and platinum are extremely dense materials (fifth and third most dense of the stable elements in the periodic table; in fact ...

Re: cheats in OOLITE a traders viewpoint
Interesting thread! For me it's about time . I just do not have the time in reality to do things "properly". So without "cheating" I'd get very bored very quickly as it should take a month or two do do some simple mission or part of an extended one. So I have no problem with, for...

Re: [RELEASE] Assassins Guild extra mission. Victim 11
Hi all. I feel a bit embarrassed about posting this. Basically I get shot up within seconds with not a lot I seem to be able to do about it. I expect it to be hard, but, well . . . so my question is, what sort of approach is helpful with this one? I fly a supercobra with all normal and variou...

Re: Docking and maybe cargo pick-up problems
Hi. Not the oxp ship (supercobra). It's the same effect with a boa2. I have to say, the effect is rather like what you suggest, as if the ship is not where the view is. Cheers. Richard.

Re: The Assassins Guild OXP (Final Updated Version)
Thanks for the reply. I moved the nova system and it seems to have worked okay. I did manage to dock a couple of times but oolite boots you out of a station at the point of its destruction, it seems, far too soon to do anything. Cheerio. Richard.

Re: What is going on!!!!
Hi. I just found out something that causes this on my laptop - Intel chipset. I changed a couple of settings in the 3D bit of the control panel and went from clear text to exactly the same type of mess you saw. In 3D settings the defaults under Custom Settings are Balance for Texture Quality, Applic...

Re: Docking and maybe cargo pick-up problems
Hi. Thanks for the response. No, it's not those injectors, or MilHUD, or Q-charger. I'll try a version where I remove everything. Maybe it's the way the PC is using OpenGL? Richard.

Docking and maybe cargo pick-up problems
Hello. I posted recently that there was trouble in TCAT when docking. Suggestion was a slow frame rate, I think, so I had a look and get about 90 most of the time which gives a pretty smooth ride so I am not sure it's that. The problem's a bit hard to describe but if you imagine when approaching a s...

Help!
Hi. I seem to have hit a snag with this. I've been asked at Eszausve to go to Angeriri to a rebel base to pick up something to kill a dreadnought. Problem is Angeriri was killed by a Nova Device (which as far as I could tell at the time was practically impossible to kill). Okti's scanner tells me th...

Re: Xeptatl's Sword
Hi. The graphics are sorted out now, thanks. There is a possible glitch. I am currently assassinating various people in G7 and while flying about looking for trouble with Okti's long-range scanner I saw something named "Xeptatl's Sword", behaving like a missile, heading towards a police or...

Special theory of oolitivity
Amnesty Intergalactic just got in touch with me about my lovely sweet philanthropic nature, helping free all those slaves. Ah! Isn't it sweet - Enloalis Inat wants to meet me because I saved her daughter 2085356 days ago :o . . . eh? 2085356 days ago  ? 5700 years :? ? Maybe I've played Oolit...
