Heh I do not mind - though, I myself was going to show up at DF forums on a bit later stages of development.Cody wrote:Rock on! <grins> I've taken the liberty of spreading the word just a little - hope you don't object.

Re: Project: DF-inspired spinoff of Elite universe
OK, first project update. I have bought modern budget laptop for performance reference, deployed development environment and started coding. Here you are - procedurally generated asteroid with only one texture and no shadows. Approximate in-game size - 60 meters.

Re: Project: DF-inspired spinoff of Elite universe
You know, I would think that 400 downloads for a new oxp is pretty darn good. And it can only go higher, too. ;-) OK, now I feel like I was trolling for compliments - though I honestly didn't had such intention :-) Well, Mining Contracts came out as a nice little oxp and if you say the numbers are ...

Re: Project: DF-inspired spinoff of Elite universe
I did see a tip once - and not one which applies directly to Elite or DF - that you should start writing a game by implementing the "You win!" screen, and then work backwards from that (so version 2 you have to press a key to win, version 3 you have to press a specific key to win, version...

As far as I know - yes. 400 downloads for final version can not be called "so popular", I suppose ^_^CWolf wrote:Download numbers take into account the In Game Expansion Manager?

Re: Project: DF-inspired spinoff of Elite universe
It is not entirely clear to me whether this is a multi-player game or not. Reading the description, I gather it is meant to be single player, but there is also mention of other party members; are those AIs taking commands from the player? Not immidiately, that's for sure. May be, after it becoming ...

Project: DF-inspired spinoff of Elite universe
Hello again, fellow commanders. You may remember me from [wiki]Mining Contracts OXP[/wiki] (though probably not, because that's just one not so popular expansion). Recently, I have been thinking a lot of trying to earn my living through more interesting ways then what I'm doing right now. I thought,...

Re: (Beta) Mining Contracts
1.12 is out - grab it and enjoy! a) Mining contracts are now offered on chaotically (but not pirate) aligned Rock Hermits too. Beware - due to shady nature of such places, they are not transmitting mining beacons and do not sell descramblers. b) I have made average contract difficulty dependent on s...

Re: (Beta) Mining Contracts
Another bugfix. In previous version docking with rock hermit after changing system have been invalidating descrambling keys. Funny note - this bug was fixed by removing code only

Ah, this one! Tried it, even. Have nothing against good old "choose your own adventures", but I don't see it integrating into generic oolite gameplay seamlessly enough.Norby wrote:[wiki]Life in the Frontier[/wiki], available in the Activites category.

Re: Announcing Schlongs of Elite v1.0
- (PlanetFall) using planetary stations rather than space stations for morally challenging trades makes sense: they're less regulated by space authorities (whatever those might be), and more regulated by local powerful men ; so it's only natural they're offering a different trade flavour. Agreed. -...

Re: Announcing Schlongs of Elite v1.0
phkb, I fully understand that. I myself wholeheartedly hate when games are trying to be moral mentors instead of just letting you deal with consequences of your actions. If I won't be able to construct impassive system that is not bullying player into "right" choices, I will drop the idea,...

Ships with dicks dont make sense to me outside of a kind of rule34 joke. Of course it was a joke - I'm not even a modeler. Looks like I missed your funny bone. dunno mate, I just ship the boxes, dont care whats inside, if it says 5t of slaves then its 5t of slaves This works with shipping contracts...

When I saw that title my immediate thought was the UFO interceptor spaceships in UFO, which carried a rather unfortunately shaped missile Heh :-) I was thinking more of something like ship from Deep Space 69 . Not sure I like the idea of making the slave trade more interesting, unless you make figh...
