Re: [WIP] New Dockable Models

Hi, my thesis is called 'The Design of Note-based Algorithmic Systems Through the Use of Mental Models'. Basically, I work with algorithmic systems that I code myself and which produce music scores, and my dissertation investigates how we approach and conceptualise these types of systems when coding...

Re: [WIP] New Dockable Models

Hey everyone! Thanks for the replies :D It is onetime download... Sorry about that, I thought that service would keep it online it indefinitely. I have re-uploaded it to my Dropbox now: https://www.dropbox.com/s/o9e60efrwbt53hl/new%20stations.zip?dl=0 Hey GS - can you remember why you couldn't get t...

Re: [WIP] New Dockable Models

Hi there! Unfortunately I never got to finish these stations and I've been away from Oolite for some years already. The models are basically done though, it's "just" a matter of adding textures to them and incorporating them into some interesting OXP. If anyone is interested in these model...

Re: Progress

One more idea that could be super immersive: the amount of city lights could depend on the type of economy, so that rich industrial countries have much more lights (and perhaps more complex structures) than poor agricultural ones. Feudal planets could have the light disabled altogether!

Re: Progress

Perhaps a more sane approach to Povray would be to create substantially fewer than 2048 unique planets, but on a high enough number that repetitions are not evident. Possibly 256 planets so that they are all unique within a single galaxy. This could allow for higher-resolution textures too. edit: po...

Re: Progress

Wow, that looks great! Is this process slow? And is it possible to batch apply it to, say, all 2048 Povray planets?

[Split] Planet City Lights

[Discussion split from the announcement of planet illumination mapping in the Progress thread .] This looks stunning!! Now if there was a way of automagically adding city lights to Povray's planets. Maybe identifying those that are not gas giants and then batch applying a pre-made texture for the a...

Re: Screenshots

These look great!! I can include them into the OXPs if you would like. Besides dropping these files in the respective texture folders, what config changes do you need to make? As for the Asp, do you need to create specgloss maps for each different livery?

Re: [Release] Dangerous HUD

I am not a big fan of these 3D bars to be honest, and I also think they might be tricky to implement in Oolite anyway (the bars are special type of sliders hardcoded available to HUD designers, they are not created through png images).
