Re: [Release] HUD Selector v1.11

I followed your suggestion of trying LargeHUD and decided that it has enough pros over my previous HUD for using it for now. But the "needed fuel indicator" seems to miss, even if a target system is set. That line in the fuel meter indicating the fuel needed for the next jump step, turning...

Re: You picked the wrong client

I've never had a problem with enough fuel for the injectors. Traveling between bottom left and top right in galaxy 1 (you probably don't want bottom right, very unsafe there) there are 2 long jumps near the bottom left corner, one of which I usually had to take; one is Lave-Zaonce IIRC, Lave being ...

Re: You picked the wrong client

Generally if you can get all the assassins in a pack out of sight, they should be okay. So, let's say there are 3 packs of 4 assassins each (12 in total, pretty common), and I run until all 4 of the first pack are out of scanner range, then only the 2*4=8 of the 2. and 3. pack will continue chasing...

Re: You picked the wrong client

Extra fuel OXPs are an option - I use one, though I've butchered it to only allow 0.5lys of fuel (which on a max jump makes very little difference). 0.5ly is about the amount needed for putting a bit of space between assassins and you, dropping a bomb and heading away from it. With enough extra fue...

Re: You picked the wrong client

if you can't outfight assassins, evade! How exactly would I do that ? Remember, I already tried hard to circumvent dangerous bottleneck systems and long jumps. The galaxies are made in a mean way so that you sometimes have to risk such a jump if you want to arrive in time. Now without enough fuel, ...

My ingame ship is a Boa cruiser with almost everything from http://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/Oolite_Equipment, at least everything containing the phrase "target". Does it depend on some addon ?

Re: You picked the wrong client

The issue is that a pure courier - hold filled with passenger cabins and a few parcels on the side - has a 0-cargo ship and won't be attacked by pirates. I am attacked by pirates anyway if I only carry platinum/gold/gemstones. They want me to drop the cargo but it's not possible. Not sure whether i...

Re: Way too many keystrokes needed

I do carry a couple of regular (30Cr) missiles though - if you have a hardhead on your 'six' and are out of fuel and energy, use 'target incoming missile' and destroy the hardhead with a standard missile. Oh, you can destroy incoming missiles with own ones ? Nice. Does this work better than with la...

Re: Way too many keystrokes needed

Anything else that you're not happy with, Anonymissimus? You're asking for it, so, yes: The scanner is overloaded with all kinds of colors flashing around, and addons love to add additional complexity. I think that less should be more. For instance, why are police and police on intercept displayed ...

Re: Way too many keystrokes needed

This may not be wise. One NPC using ECM will destroy all missiles no matter who they are aimed at. Therefore if you have multiple NPCs you may also have multiple ECMs to deal with. In other words you will never have enough (expensive!) missiles available to drain them to a noticeable degree. The go...

Re: Way too many keystrokes needed

The [wiki]SafetyCatch[/wiki] can help a bit, at least prevent accidental bomb drops. Tried that. Addons tend to make things even more complicated. There would be no need for a safety catch if missile selecting, arming and firing was a simple one-keystroke action. Even better - why do the keys not w...

Way too many keystrokes needed

I still don't understand why I need to activate this weird "ident" system at all, couldn't it just always be active ? I would only have to press key_untarget_missile basically, in case I want to change my current target. shooting a missile is worst: Let's assume that I already have set the...

key_autodock at rock hermits

The behavior feels buggy to me. Sometimes I get a message about docking instructions uploaded and nothing else, other times the docking sequence runs as well. IIRC a single time it also actually worked, that is, I was also "put to sleep", so I immediately dock in real life time. What is th...

Re: Oolite: misjumpier

No? Please enlighten me... If you should find yourself in interstellar space without enough fuel to escape, do not despair - carry on splashing Thargoids, and keep your eyes peeled. I collected 10t of the small ships, but did not try to burn them in my engines :-) You appear to suggest that there i...
