Re: Oolite Windows - Trunk nightly builds

I'm just getting a lot of page unavailable errors, have been for many days now. The Galactic Navy has been informed, but they said it might have something to do with a bunch of Gits. They've sent a Krait to take a look.

I agree. I would not want to have Oolite look like yet another RPG full of experience points stuff. Well, there's nothing to say that a bounty would necessarily follow the legal status perfectly. A bounty might be withdrawn when you go clean, but it won't necessarily go down when you go from fugiti...

The windows nightly has been updated with a functional r3834 installer.

Salut!
Does this mean I'll have to call the Thargoid invasion fleet off? Damn.

Seriously, that's good news. A resource limit, hmm? If the box has SNMP enabled, have it flag you when resources drop to critical levels.

A crude multiplayer option COULD be written as an OXP. It would only work with convoys, though, and only work with any degree of reliability on a LAN. The idea would be that the AI for the escorting ships would be replaced with a network connection. So every ship in the convoy is running as a "...

My thought is that any site with OXPs could simply have an RSS feed that lists all OXPs available from there, providing a version number, direct URL and OXP title. This would allow anyone wanting to simply browse available OXPs to do so, and those wanting to automagically obtain the current version ...

Since there doesn't seem to be any active projects any more along these lines, I'm going to propose the setting up of COAN (Comprehensive Oolite Archive Network). My first thought is that this should be modelled after CPAN for Perl, since the software for setting up CPAN-like archives, version check...

Maybe you can give a link? Sorry, but OXPCentral has not happened. Dizzy (the guy masterminding it) has disappeared off the scanners and no progress is possible without him as he controlled the Domain Name and Website. If (as we all hope) Dizzy returns, then things might start moving again, but the...

Meeeeeep! I am CERTAIN this is not in any design specs. I was battling a Thargoid carrier and accidently docked. The Thargoids, being too stupid to shoot me on the spot, contented themselves with fining me 5000 credits and allowing me to buy more weapons. This would go a long way to explaining why t...

REQ: Improved OXP Support

At present, there are some OXPs that have other OXPs within them - for dependency reasons usually. Others list them on their wiki page. In some cases, dependencies are optional, others are mandatory. It seems that Perl, Python and TeX archives have produced ways to allow users to track dependencies ...

FYI

Nightly build 3552 mostly seems to work ok but I'm getting infrequent random lockups. Also, if a mission pops up, I don't get messages relating to successfully dropping off passengers. Other than that, game development looks superb. If the collision detection issue (mentioned in the OXP thread where...

Yes. In multiple cinemas. :P
I believe it's the Aramaic version, as there's no J. (See: Last Crusade)

Something big, with a significantly smaller port_radius than it's radius, and a pipeway down into the structure to get within that port_radius. And I thought I was supposed to be the evil one round here? Of course, this still runs into a problem. To construct a maze, I will need to be abl...

check out Cmdr McLane's Hacker Outposts, they're huge asteroids w/ an access tunnel that leads to a hollowed-out chamber w/a dock slot at the back. what you propose is easy enough but remember to make the corners large enough to actually turn in, and ~ someone else (McL?) can probably clarify/confi...

Sounds like the sequence from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi where the rebels have to fly inside the Death Star to destroy the main energy plant. Could be a good idea to make a mission around it, where this was the final objective? I considered making this the final objective, but then I realized so...

Re: ..

Perhaps an enormous alien artifact that has to be explored, raided or even destroyed could be a backdrop for such a mission or mission series? Ok, how's this sound? Legend has it that an ancient alien sect, of a civilization now lost, built gigantic monolithic structures. Nobody had ever seen one, ...
