Re: [Release] Trails v1.1
Hi Norby, this version is much better, from the visual point of view (love this "foggy" design) as well as the demand on the hardware :-) Now I am at around 60fps, which is playable. Some nitpicks: You seem to have fixed the Q-Charger issue, but with Injectors, the same issue applies :-D A...

Re: [Release] Trails v1.0
Ok, tested. Looks quite good, I have the same issues as others... trails appearing/disappearing without reason. Also, on my Laptop (Linux, Nvidia Optimus natively with modeswitching) it stutters, quite low fps, unfortunately I can't tell you a number, as I don't know how to find that number :-D Stra...

Re: [Release] Trails v1.0
does the trail behave differently with the angle of the sun? No, and I think a cloud is equally bright regardless of the angle of the sun (except behind a planet). Hm I don't know about space (but I guess there will be some astrophysics cracks who will tell us soon :-D) but at least in the atmosphe...

Re: [Release] Trails v1.0
[wiki]Trails[/wiki] make condensation trails after NPC ships. Need good hardware but the built-in FPS check will reduce the length of trails if needed. The idea is based on Zireael's Engine Trails but rewritten from scratch to fix the Universe is full error. This looks awesome. Will be tested very ...

Re: Add more fun to the Ooniverse
Passenger Transport does not yield anything beyond money? OK, I'll try the parcel service then. And have a lookout for some more OXPs. You need to heavily populate your galaxies with extra ship oxps. Any suggestions beside "deep space pirates"? RRS has some quite interesting missions (mid...

Credits questions
Hi all,
just some thinking around... you all know the Credits. It has a symbol in game. Where does that come from? Is it available in Unicode? Is there a "high resolution" image for me to see some details?
Is there some lore around this currency?

Re: Paint Missiles
Just make sure you pack extra thermal underwear, just in case. :) Not necessary if you have your towel, it can keep you warm. That said, is it even technically possible by script to paint objects (from core or other OXPs) with a different colour? I'd like to see a Waspline station in *real* black/y...

Re: [Release] EscortDeck v1.5 and EscortPack v1.1
it did not pick them up to the Escort deck. Is there something in the Latest.log? Are you sure you maintained target lock on the ship? Can you reproduce the problem? I will try to reproduce it, will let you know. Yes, target lock was active since I watched the distance in the lock cursor. Latest lo...

Re: [Release] EscortDeck v1.5 and EscortPack v1.1
Hmm I am not sure what happened. I didn't play much the last days. Today I was able to play a bit. I found three "usable Fer-de-lance (54t)" and the message said as usual that I should go near to pick it up. When flying there, it did not pick them up to the Escort deck. I did not get a mes...

Re: Crux of choosing an OS
2) Well, except the way Microsoft still can't even trust you to 'own' your own computer. 2) Why? I hear it a lot from Linux users. Never really understood why. http://www.techradar.com/news/software/operating-systems/what-microsoft-s-secure-boot-means-for-the-future-of-linux-1160157 TL;DR? http://a...

http://www.informatics-tech.com/linux-vs-mac-vs-windows-unbiased-comparison.html video/graphics producers will probably tend towards Mac That's a bit outdated. Apple will not support 10bit color depth neither in hardware nor in software in the next years, although graphics professionals urge them t...

Re: Crux of choosing an OS
Server-side: Debian Linux, for upgradability and wide support with packages Pretty sure that's only for a few years now (5 years?). Before that, upgradable Debian has been an oxymoron. I've lost about 10 Debian/Ubuntu based hosts while doing distribution upgrades before I switched to Gentoo mainly ...

Re: Crux of choosing an OS
You don't choose an OS.
The OS chooses you.
In similar matters:
Linux is user friendly. It is just picky about its friends.

Re: [Release] VariableMasslock v1.0
I tested a bit around and can say it works quite good.
Only "problem" I have seen is that I am getting mass locks from the GalCop station very early (about 20 seconds on Q-Charger speed). I am not sure if I think that's good or not
