... maybe masslock isn't due to physics so much as a hardwired safety feature enforced by GalCop on manufacturers ... to prevent ships with with torus drives from careening off of other ships, stations, and so forth. Apparantly they don't care about asteroids. Asteroids won't file lawsuits. Not sur...

Like many other commanders (I guess), if I was taking hits but no red blip on my scanner, then I would think "Aha! A cloaked ship! Forget the torus, it won't work." Then switch to my rear gun and hope to get a visual on the telltale flicker, or punch the injectors and get the frak outta t...

Sorry I was inaccurate with the pulse laser range its been a while since I used one. I concur with Disembodied about the Milspec Hud by the way, it really is unmatched for long ranged sniping.

To expand on the advice given by the previous members: The pulse laser only has a range of 5000km, the beam laser 15000km, whilst the military laser can hit anything within scanner range (provided you can see it). This range can be seen by equiping the aforementioned scanner targeting enhancement. P...

This is a great oxp Commander McLane, and many thanks for creating it, but I did notice something a little odd. When there's a cloaked ship in the area it still seems to be possible to engage the Torus drive; which rather goes against the official technobabble. To be honest I suspect this a hardcodi...

Reference Rock Hermit beacons:

A quick check through my addons folder suggests the Rock Hermit locator oxp is probably responsible for this. I think I got it from the wiki. I'll check later but I'm really supposed to be working at the moment.

Speaking as yet another dent in Lestradae's rear bumper something of the kind would be useful.

I kill myself frequently enough without requiring any extra assistance.

Good to see I'm not the only person given to prematurely removing myself from the gene pool around here.:D

Just last night I launched from a rock hermit, engaged injectors to get out of scanner range and press space commander.

Oh yes, hermits have beacons too.

Oolite Darwin Awards

This has probably been done before but I thought it would be entertaining for members to post their least glorious oolite moments to general acclaim/derision. Perhaps you confused your afterburners with your brakes whilst mining, accidently fired on a behemoth while trying to dock with it, or maybe ...

Paintjob

That is a nice paintjob allikat and I did think about a PCC.
After checking the wiki though I noted it can't equip shield boosters and I didn't fancy running an Anarchy stuffed with platinum without really solid defences. :(

Reference sound

Reference your enquiry about sound GUNSMIF.
Have you tried Hawksounds? It tones down the menu noises a bit and includes a computer voice for most ship operations.

Ouch

Ouch, that was one painful pun DaddyHoggy
Honestly earned cash though (I rather got suck in Gal 1 what with passengers to drop off, rightful kings to restore to their thrones, UPS packages to find and so forth).

Hello

Well this seems as good a place as any for a first post.
I recently traded in my Mk3 after dealing with a small problem for the Navy and am now currently making my fortune in a Boa Class Cruiser in Galaxy 2.
