Re: Advise me on buying a laptop for Oolite?!

So, congratulations, enjoy! Did you have bluray / fullHD-TV before ? If you need blurays, you should first look up what your public library has to offer. ------------------------------------------ about that GT 635 : it exists (but not GTX), it is is a rebranded GT555. :? Lately nvidia started rebra...

Re: Advise me on buying a laptop for Oolite?!

As far as I understood it, there is no 64bit windows build of Oolite. Then again, it is not needed, Windows 64bit runs 32bit applications mostly fine. To have Oolite enabled to use more than 2GB of RAM, you can run the 1.77 trunk version that seems to be LAA-enhanced (enabling 32 program to use mor...

Re: Inconsistencies and the Wiki

Thanks for the feedback - so I will go edit in one single infobox for them all style. ]Is my Soon-to-be-released shipset included in these 3 different OXPs? nope, so far just Oldships, pagroove's Oldships 2010, and Neolite companion. But if you haven't already done so, then I will mention ...

Re: Advise me on buying a laptop for Oolite?!

There are other games? There are. Some I'd even like to play. Usually though they then are Xbox- or PS- -only. :( ----------------------- If they can't find the battery, and you really want that Sony - persuade them to reduce it even more (700 £ ) and you go and buy a replacement battery ...

Re: Contract hauling question

oh, cool. :) to not be misunderstood - I do not really mind them 5seconds when I visit the contract market. I'd only hate it if it were calculated already on system entry, just to avoid potential abuse of the system as it is now. And wrote this only because it feels (?) as if things changing (popula...

Re: Contract hauling question

Interesting is that the player can influence the offers. The contracts are generated when the player enters the contact screen for the first time. When he buys all of the most available commodity first, this will than be seen as a scarce commodity when he proceeds to the contract screen for the fir...

Re: Contract hauling question

The formula also makes the chance for anarchies as destination with a high time margin, higher than for more stable governments. Interesting. I always wondered - so it really is so - great. :) Makes absolutely sense, and makes interesting situations more likely - luring the player to finding themse...

Re: Advise me on buying a laptop for Oolite?!

First, can you wait a little more ? It is right now that the new generation of intel core-i processors is making it into notebooks, and the same for new graphics cards from nvidia (and AMD). Those generally deliver (little) more Ooomph per Watt, resp. the possibility to produce less heat (->noise) a...

Re: Whether to do a system-wide or home folder install

Duh, that would make sense. I guess I was thinking that somehow a system wide might be more efficient somehow (but I suppose still worth asking since applications aren't generally installed to the home folder). I suppose in a way it is more efficient - by allowing other users to easily play the gam...

At 152m wide and 90m high, no wonder Oolite does not like it.

so, move the wiki list entry to OXPs with problems ?

Re: Inconsistencies and the Wiki

hej, As Albee made aware of incorrectnesses, I have started to edit a little the oldships' ships' wikipage s, to be congruent with what the oxp's shipdata and shipyard plists contain. (I still have to find ingame a Cat and a Iguana , to see what the game makes of not-clear-to-me entries in the plist...

Re: Docking and maybe cargo pick-up problems

Something that "feels" related is that (again sometimes) when picking up cargo the canisters do not behave in the Newtonian fashion one might expect; they move in curves and jump about a bit. A touch on the keyboard and they'll suddenly jump up and smash on the windscreen, so to speak, in...

You need to upload the images to a photo sharing site like Photobucket or Imageshack, then link to them using tags (except with [ ] instead of < >). Okay, here goes... Bugger! Preview is telling me "It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image." I find http://i...

Re: Newcomer getting slaughtered in combat

I think it is not so much a missing typo, but a confusion from Neolite Companion oxp having (having had) these ships, too. (d/l link as of now is broken) As the main Neolite shippack until recently came with a shipyard list meant to go with the RS-approach (all ships repriced, standard capability on...
