Re: System Populator Memory
The economy / contract system of Oolite is based on the principle that the players impact is insignificant. A planet that offloads some of its over-production in food and all you can buy is a few tons, not enough to fill a tiny spaceship? Explanation here in this forum was: your part is fairly small...

Re: Can't save Commander
First: Welcome on board commander. Don't Panic. Usually the game does an auto-save when you leave a station so in General there is no need to save manually. Though it has Advantages to do so... When you hit F2, select save, type in a Name and hit Enter, that's it. Try to select F2 again, then select...

And, last not least, unlike cargo, parcels bring some excitement into the Ooniverse.

Re: A n00b needs help finding Zaonce's station
A problem when approaching a station behind a planet is the missing 3D visualization of the planet on a 2D computer screen. You tend to be mass-locked when circumnavigating the big ball.

Re: A n00b needs help finding Zaonce's station
Strangely? Well, the witchpoint is not given by chance, it is put there by the same guys that set up the station. So it seems prudent, to put the witchpoint in the line with the station so you shall see the latter easily. This said, the station must be orbiting in the same time as the station does.

Re: A n00b needs help finding Zaonce's station
The selection via "#" already requires that?
Then how did I find the station as a new Jameson?
Well, that was a long time ago obviously...

Re: A n00b needs help finding Zaonce's station
It might also be helpful to note that you can choose the target direction of the compass. You can select between planet, station. It also directs you to the witchpoint beacon, the currently targeted ship and some expansion set features like a space bar or con-store. (Advances space compass this is) ...

That's for sure.Cody wrote:<chortles> I do know a little about assassins!
But take me as an example, I did not know, unless I read your posts about them in your parcel tales. Probably the author of this thread is/was equally unaware.

Re: Insane attack levels
@Cody: Unless you start digging a bit deeper into Oolites secrets, you are probably not aware, that there is such a thing as a role "assassin". Who attacks you is a pirate... So I guess we can safely assume that it were assassins indeed.

Re: [RELEASE:] Coluber CPV-12375 Pitviper Mk. II
One more stupid question: To use Sparas updated shipdata.plist, I'll have to download the Pitviper as OXP, not as OXZ in game, correct? I'll give it another try then. I installed the ship once, but then Pitvipers apperad everywhere, often I was attacked by a group of 5 pirates, 3 of them Pitvipers, ...

Re: Insane attack levels
Oolite usually starts quite peaceful. Unless YOU decide to visit an Anarchy system, you are pretty safe. You can avoid most of the bad guys by diving deep off the main line, that has been described here before: when arriving at a system, turn perpendicular to the witchpoint beacon - planet line, use...
