Re: Screenshots
[...] I'm not sure if it's possible but could you vary the transparency of the plume maybe? Make it more opaque at the end near the model, enough to hide that octagon from being drawn by the bloom, then fade the rest of the plume out along its length with a linear gradient or something? Or if the o...

Meanwhile, I also found a way for my Blender attempts to better mimic a gas giant. This is a Blender screenshot[...] Did you see this? [...] I made a gas giant texture making program called gaseous-giganticus [...] And see further down that thread for more Yeah, blender != gaseous-giganticus. While...

Re: BPlanets
A quick story about how this evolves. More than 4 months ago, I finally decided to take my chance at a GPU passthrough in a Windows 10 VM on my Linux workstation. <technical rant> To make the story longer, the reason I took this decision was that I noticed that my Windows 7 partition didn't want to ...

Re: Screenshots
I also tried it (and looked at it from a similar camera position). Didn't notice (but also didn't look for) any drawback. One not necessarily drawback, but what I'd call a maybe unwanted side effect, due to the way this dabbler applied your setup (i.e., by OXP-ing in AddOns/Scripts the oolite-ship-l...

Mass Effect universe has 2 of them: - EDI -- it's the Alliance turn rogue AI in ME1 (not named), acquired by Cerberus and installed on Normandy SR2 in ME2, getting a "mobile platform" (i.e. a sexy bot body) in ME3 - SAM -- it's the Andromeda Initiative AI, connected to the pathfinder team...

Re: Oolite on HDR Displays
@Commander_X: Could you please try launching the test build with the second monitor also active, or, if this doesn't work either, with the second monitor physically disconnected? Just trying to confirm whether that particular monitor topology involving a disabled monitor has anything to do with the...

The Microsoft Basic Display Adapter is bound to Qemu's GTK window, which I keep available as a failsafe, but don't use at all, my login comes on the main NVidia display.

Re: Oolite on HDR Displays
Update on the Windows HDR support. There is a new test build here [...] Gave this a quick spin on my Windows 10 GPU passthrough VM, and the main thing to report back is that it always starts with the dialog, although my monitor and windows screen is HDR enabled, it also is monitor number 1 and main...

Re: Oolite on HDR Displays
One issue I observed (and unfortunately I cannot do a screen capture for it -- it won't get captured): the Windows mouse cursor shows a square (that is a cca. 150-200 -- maybe more?! -- pixels square, with the mouse tip in its top left corner; the square is transparent -- you can call it +85% transp...

Re: Oolite on HDR Displays
In the Windows build, I had to ("manually") patch SDL_video.h in the dev environment (src/SDL/MyOpenGLView.m reported SDL_GL_PIXEL_TYPE_FLOAT as undeclared). Once that done, compilation worked, the log reports 16 bpcc / 24bit depth, but the hdr controls in the UI don't change anything (yes...
