Re: You picked the wrong client
I actually managed to get a couple of assassins to attack me while within the aegis. I laughed with glee when they started crying out in frustration from the police attacking them.

Multi-function Display
So....I downloaded a hud oxz that said it was a mfd (multi-function display) hud. I then downloaded another oxz listed as being mfd...and I have yet to see them work. Is mfd another way of saying that the oxz can be modified by the player? The two I have are comms log and combat. The combat hud isn'...

Re: cloaking / other tactics
Smivs has some pretty good suggestions there. If I'm going to waste a missile on the mark, though, I tend to use missiles with injectors; for whatever reason they tend to cause the enemy to inject much farther away, giving me more room to just race right after him. This tactic will, of course, requi...

Re: Screenshots
Wow, those are some beautiful pictures! Mostly because they have so many stars in the background, though that one with the ship nearly colliding into you is hilarious.
Out of curiosity, how DO you get so many stars in your skies?

Re: Mining Asteroids
No problem. I'm not as disturbed about game changing oxps, but I still felt the same way about the processor: interesting enough to get. I've enjoyed it on occasion. Eventually I'll probably return to my mining transporter save file and work at saving up enough credits to get one.

Re: Tales from the spacelanes...
Hey grandpa, grandma! Sorry that it's taken so long to write to you all. I'm still alive and doing well. Even well enough to send you a thousand credits back as thanks for helping me get this ship! I know, I know, the farm is probably doing well and you would prefer that I keep it for myself. But, h...

Re: Tales from the spacelanes...
I recently made deadly and decided to see if I could get past those idiotic customers that demanded to have someone with a better combat rating transport their parcels. I nearly tore into one of them, trying to explain how a truly fast ship with powerful shields can just ignore all combatants and ra...

Re: Proposal for 1.82: combat balance changes
not removing (or reducing in ANY way) the option to snipe. A simple solution: we can define a new laser with the same ability as the original military so players can snipe as before after bought the new laser but NPCs will use the default dissipating one (at least mostly). But I am fine with an OXP...

Re: Proposal for 1.82: combat balance changes
Not planned are any of the "backup plans" ideas from the original post A light laser dissipation like 50% or less at max. range would be good imho to reduce fast kills of new commanders when arrive into the laser range of a pirate group. There isn't better warning to flee than some heavy ...

Re: Working all the live long day
Hmmm, well, I only have experience with the ore processor while flying in a python. In that ship there's literally no reason whatsoever to bother with scanning. You have so many energy banks and cargo space that scanning is pointless. Just scoop them all and process them. However, in a miner transpo...

Re: Working all the live long day
I was able to easily acquire injectors without any trouble while within Lave's system. :? You can't buy injectors from Lave, unless you have some oxp stations that are higher TL of course. That's the main reason I prefer moving the start to Zaonce and also the reason why in the current version ther...

Re: Working all the live long day
Having started on the miner start, I have to say that, personally, the greater challenges are just surviving against pirates and finding a wormhole to go through once the current system is exhausted of room for more minerals. I was able to easily acquire injectors without any trouble while within La...

Re: Proposal for 1.82: support for economic changes
True, you can do cargo contracts with a python, and even more so with a boa. However, if you truly want to maximize your profits you'll have an anaconda so that you can take five, six, or seven contracts at once. Back in Oolite v1.74, I had 15 cargo contracts going at once with my Boa 2 and complet...
