Sounds complicated :) I use the side-views to line up at 90°, come to a stop, swing the ship around and dock. Simples.
Ditto.
But there's no style. Where's the pizazz?

Re: ..

In the script-swapping we did, somehow Screet's cut-down version of the "show station" script got into my Scripts folder and thereby into the current OSE test version. Meaning that it will only show one station correctly now: Screet's. That is quite the SNAFU :( Once the plist perfoms a s...

If it's not lined up, I come to a stop somewhat away from it. I rotate until it's straight up and down. I aim below it and go forward until it passes overhead. I wait a very short bit. Full stop, and then point upwards. It I am lined up then Great! If I am short, go back down and advance a bit furt...

At least, sometimes it does work. In the past months I had it two times while wandering through the park with my dog that I suddenly though "I should not be here, get out!" and few hours later, back there, there were large parts of the trees broken off which did block the way ;) There is ...

In terms of the "how would you know" backstory, you could argue that a Jameson would do his research before getting his pilot's license, and would have a copy of an almanac with last year's prices in. (Or more likely, would have the iGroan app installed with same.) Do the station prices c...

OSE still uses some property lists for the world scripts. These are: playerstations.plist OO-HaulEscort.plist BlackMonks.plist Player Stations By Lestradae - both the property list version and the javascript version are being loaded at the same time. Am I right to presume that the plist version is t...

Re: ...

Now I have a practical question at you experts here, I have seen some "true/false" statements written in at least three different notations, namely: <key>unpiloted</key> <true/> <key>unpiloted</key> <string>yes</string> <key>unpiloted</key> <string>true</string> Do they all work that way?...

Re: ...

2) It makes sense to add to the names of the scripts in OSE an "OSE-" tag. So that when bugfixing, devs, original oxp creators and myself immediately know which version we are talking about. Having thought about this a bit more, nice though it would be for identification, it risks breakin...

Thanks for your help and I assume - as said - that this board and its inhabitants are mature enough that this is not the end of your assistance here or over there at OSE
Oh no, most certainly not the end. Just aim me in what is considered an appropriate direction and fire me off. :D

Re: ...

I suggest following the OSE development thread, I am posting my current thoughts which are up for discussion and scrutiny there. From there on, we will develop a new procedure of how to do this, and I think this new procedure will have to and should involve the original oxp makers if they care to. ...

Rather than lay aside your tools, I invite you to look at the scripting in my OXPs, and advise me where there are better commands that may be used, and possibly better methods of doing things. Thank you for your offer. Either that or if you prefer a more solo task, there are plenty of legacy script...

Re: ..

I will rename the scripts to keep them distinguishable from the original ones, especially as the actual situation implies a high probability of the future OSE scripts diverging from the original ones they stem from. It seems that my efforts here have been causing a lot of ill will. That is perhaps ...

Re: ..

As I already said in another thread, I will "OSE-ify" the OSE scripts as it seems they are starting to diverge on the original oxps they stem from. If I can butt in here, I would ask that you please don't OSE-ify the scripts. I would rather that the updated scripts be discarded if their u...

Re: ..

I am leaning on the side to only implement changes to OSE scripts in the future if the original oxp makers can be convinced to make these changes too. The "why" and "what for" should be understandable from what I have said here. I fully agree with the direction that you want to ...
