They are galaxies. They are galaxies because the thing you use to get to one is a galactic hyperdrive, as opposed to a hyper drive and that sounds awesomely powerful, where as galactic sector hyperdrive sounds as impressive as the term 'somewhat bigger gerbil'. Also, since you can't go back, it's ne...

The entirely funny and kinda sad thing is that occasionally I don't take passengers, so I can explore systems without having to put their 'life' in danger, even before I knew about the reputation affects. Getting shot up is one thing, getting shot up with someone else on board is another.

Do passenger runs. The can be pretty good pay for a small ship. I have a Moray starboat, so with a berth, that leaves 2 tons cargo space, and I can live off of the passengers better than if I had the 5 tons available. I sold the Cobra early on, in order to get a smaller ship with more stuff.

The playable space dredgers are amazing by themselves. I tried one out today. It was 11 missiles!. It manuvers really slow and I don't think you can dock with a fuel station (I tried and couldn't). It has a 250 ton cargo bay. It's pretty awesome. What is also fun is playing it and then playing a fer...

Black Monks Bank/Monastery does the same thing. Though it seems to be oriented the wrong way on the scanner, shouldn't it be oriented the same way as the actual station ?

The could be a false alarm on my part though.

You don't need to dock with a station to get prices. Once you are in the system, F8 will show you the prices, if you don't like them, head out to the sun and fill up for free (if you have fuel scoops, heat shielding never hurts) and go elsewhere.

Hey I just found out two days ago that you can cycle missles. It didn;t use to be an issue, since I only even had missles. But then I bought a Quirium mine and all of a sudden I couldn't just fire my missle, it wanted to fire the mine

but I figured it out (I read the ref sheet again) :)

I noticed something quite surprising. Maybe it's true of all rock hermits, but they don't mass lock you out of jump drive. It is, I assure you, quite possible to be approaching a FTZ at jump speeds and crash right into it, Giving you a space bar moment. luckily, I saved not too far back. Though my p...

My pompous, alternately serious and silly rant. Having said that, I remember when first playing Elite in the '80s, that docking was the most frustrating thing, because, while trading and fighting though tough (especially fighting) seemed an integral part of the game, docking didn't seem so and yet i...

How come these passengers who demand getting taken on a 30 day trip across the galaxy even considers hopping on the ship of some guy that doesn't even have much of a reputation? Sounds risky to me. . People who need to fly 'under the radar' like the dodgy old guy and his teenage friend, or that you...
