Re: Can we fix Thargoid Carriers?
Good stuff. When I opened the file in my editor - 'GIMP' - the editor asked whether I wished to keep the file's colour profile. I said 'yes', but steps 2-4 will remove that profile, I think; and probably the profile is the problem. When I saved the file as PNG, GIMP asked me about compression and re...

Can we fix Thargoid Carriers?
Dear all There seems to be a bug in the old Thargoid Carriers OXP , whereby occasionally the carrier ships are near-invisible. When that happens I fear my computer is playing up. But I think the cause has to do with this message in the log: [texture.load.png.error]: ***** A PNG loading error occurre...

Re: [RELEASE:] Interstellar Tweak OXP
Thanks, phkb. I find that I have discovered yet another way to foot-gun myself, so to speak. To wit: I had one version of the OXP as a 'managed addOn' and another - with, I think, a dodgy manifest - in my 'AddOns' directory. I removed the latter version and now my log shows no errors. So: there is n...

Re: [RELEASE:] Interstellar Tweak OXP
> you might like to consider using the wiki reference instead: https://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/Interstellar_Tweaks Will do, pkhb. But can I get your advice on getting my manifest file to work? It is still - in its latest version, which is 7.03 - throwing errors, but only at runtime and not in the ...

Re: The All-in-One Guide to OXZ Packaging and Distribution
phkb: thanks. Perhaps I incremented `required_oolite_version` rather than the version of my OXP (though subsequently I did increment the latter). Also, hold on: `required_oolite_version` specifies the minimum version of Oolite needed, right? EDIT: I've uploaded a new version of the file - but also, ...

Re: The All-in-One Guide to OXZ Packaging and Distribution
Hi all Having changed to a new computer, I cannot find the webpage to where I upload my manifest.plist. Please help. Thanks. (I did find, in the guide at the start of this thread, a link to http://www.oolite.org/oxps/; but that link is broken.) EDIT: oh, hold on . The procedure these days is to file...

Re: [RELEASE:] Interstellar Tweak OXP
Well, Mr Flibble, thank you for that report. At present I cannot easily fix the problem (my main PC died) but I'll be able to investigate with a week or two. I hope that you will not fry me alive with your hex-vision.

There are some amazing planet textures shown within that thread.
That black hole - sucking in stuff, yes? - has an amazing appearance!

Re: Windows testers needed for modernised build
Right: I did not manage to reproduce the hang, but that might be because I did not manage to trigger exactly the same Interstellar Tweaks scenario, though I did end up in an Interstellar Tweaks scenario that was similar to the one that I had when there was the hang. I'll test by making the Tweaks tr...

Re: Windows testers needed for modernised build
I tested that PNG file by loading it into (1) Windows' Paint, (2) GIMP (again on Windows) and in both cases it worked and neither case did the program show me an error message or warning. Also: with the latest test build, and the previous test build, Windows (10) is not showing the program as instal...

Re: Windows testers needed for modernised build
Hi mcarans I tried OoliteInstall-1.91.0.7726-251025-416a81a-win-test.exe. My testing went as follows. Load a commander. Look at some station screens. Launch. Force misjump. Get annihilated by Thargoids. And again. And again. (I'm out of practice, alright?) Launch. Force misjump. See empty interstell...

Re: Player ship hyperspace jump crash to desktop
Speaking of being 'so out-of-date as to be irrelevant': my Interstellar Tweaks OXP might be the cause of the problem (if you have that OXP installed) or, potentially, the solution. It could be the solution in the following sense. That OXP does all sorts of messing with the old interstellar black stu...

I peform necromancy upon this thread only to say that the parenthesis within the thread's title tickled me! Might I add: is your name not important?
