Adder Start

A little OXP that lets you start with 1000Cr and an Adder with a 5TC cargo bay. The extra credits and the extended cargo bay gives a good boost to the progression and gives more options. Among them is the possibility to start relatively quickly Quirium harvesting with phkb's fuel tweaks (note that a...

Re: Issues with Graphics in Linux

Can you post the beginning of your logs (Latest.log in the Logs directory; copy up to "Resources paths", it should be enough) which includes info about your graphics card detection, so that people who know that stuff can take a look at it?

Re: Jobs

Some players focus on trade, some others on fights but I think the least common denominator is that everyone wants to see stars, planets and ships. I think there's room for low-pay, repeatable jobs within a system, like mining or in-system taxi, but perhaps more reliable (in the sense that they are ...

Re: (WIP) GalCop's Most wanted

The main function of WP buoys is of course to mark a dangerous zone where ships could pop anywhere and anytime. They also have a built-in transmitter that broadcasts its coordinates which the ASC automatically picks up.

Re: Scriptable pause?

FWIW the version I've uploaded a few weeks ago was borken: switching modes didn't work.

Also, who should I talk to in order to have a 1.87 version tag for the manager?

Re: Compass target mode autoswitch

Sorry, I still don't really understand. However, I'll try the target memory extension, the warrant scanner and the manifest scanner to figure out how to improve things.

Re: (WIP) Ship Repurchase

I'd like to see two more options: d) replacement by same ship without equipment, but second-hand (which means a higher renovation_multiplier ). In this case the increase of renovation_multiplier could be cumulative in order to simulate the frequent ejection penalty. TBH I'm looking for ways to make ...

Re: Compass target mode autoswitch

I don't understand the request very well but... Would the ability to disable the feature manually (e.g. make it an equipment with an on/off switch) satisfy it?

Re: (Release) Ship Configuration

Downgrading the Hyperdrive is kind of "free money" for broke Jamesons because the longer countdown isn't a big deal, but combined with Manual Witchspace Alignment it is a slightly different story. It got me killed in interstellar space because I overlooked the overheating. I love it when p...

Re: Have I been pwned?

Stumbled on https://haveibeenpwned.com and thought to share it with our community. I'm looking at decentralized file system solutions like IPFS to replace those cloud storage services (*drives/boxes) and image hosting sites, mainly in order not to rely on them to post images, share files or host OX...

Re: Add an engineering licence / roadside assistance career path

I'll throw some ideas in the pot: I'd make the qualification part a real thing. That is, the players would need some knowledge to properly do their job. More on this below. A typical mission could be as follows: We receive a request for repairs, meaning we have to go to certain coordinates provided ...

Re: JB WIP thread: several ships

One question I wanted to ask to the community at one point is: would you consider it ok to re-make an OXP? For instance, suppose Wildships OXP is no longer maintained (didn't check if it is - it's just an example). Jackiebean has some new models for the stations and perhaps the ships as well. Would ...

Re: Nicotine and vape

Funny, I've decide to try to quit exactly last week. I'm writing this while smoking one - well, the one roll per day that I allow myself. I've gotta appreciate it, so I'm going to pause for a moment before writing the rest... Back to keyboard. Vape - I dislike being near people using them because of...

Solar winds. It's not actually rust, but the chemical effects of solar winds on the ships' paint. This paint supports a wide range of temperatures but is prone to decomposition if exposed to charged particles. Shields normally prevent that.

Re: Wow

Welcome!

The CPC464 and the sound of the programs loading from the tape... Will it actually start? Will it not? And those wonderful intro musics (Zynaps, Thanatos, Netherworlds, Exolon...).
