Re: A better, more modern, user interface...
Aceshigh, you're perfectly within your right in making this suggestion! :) Still, If you wan't to play another game with fancy graphics or offer your UI as an OXP, go right ahead. gosh, if you want to play the exact same game, without better graphics and stuff, just play the original at an emulator...

Re: A better, more modern, user interface...
what do you guys think about it? If you wan't to play another game with fancy graphics or offer your UI as an OXP, go right ahead. gosh, if you want to play the exact same game, without better graphics and stuff, just play the original at an emulator or DOSBOX. the objective of a REMAKE is to make ...

A better, more modern, user interface...
Oolite has better and better 3D graphics each time. I wonder why only the 3D graphics are being improved, but not the UI. I think the next version could have a better, more beautiful GUI (graphical user interface). If the Oolite developers have higher priorities than spending time to make a more gra...

yep...well. the Anaconda model is built and I have all my maps now (including the new normal one). So I've just got to put it all together. In fact, sod work, I might just try and get it done today. well, that already looks good enough. Is it a rendered ship model or is it the ship running on the 1...

I don't think that the market for an Elite like game with real scale universe and newtonian physics is soo big. ;) Really? Just look at how successful Eve is. Granted its an online game but its basically the same thing. The X Reunion games did pretty well as did Freelancer for its time so theres mo...

Re: A step towards solving the f*&%§d-up distances conun
The distances in Oolite are horrible. The planet is 50km across, the distance from planet to witchpoint is 300km, etc. Aegidian once tried out an up-to-scale model with every distance in the game (except ships & stations, obviously) by enlarging everything by a factor of 100, including the ship...

Well there is a direct 3d frontier now. it;s revese engineered and downloadble at the russian elite sit. I think it's called eliteclub..ru http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3srzdBAsdQ I have it and it's pretty but Oolite simply offers better gameplay. If they remove the Newtonian model then it's mayb...

I mean, this coverart clearly shows the ships are supposed to be SEXY AND CURVY... and that obviously, the pointy low poly designs was because of cpu limitation. This is probably a better picture of the old DWCobra I did: http://www.bluelocust.com/Images/sml-dwcobra.jpg But you're right it doesn't ...

do anyone knows where I can find the texture of the station hangar? I am using the Gritty Coriolis Station. It has a bluish weird looking hangar. I opened the texture pack to try to change it, but the texture pack of the Gritty Coriolis station apparently did not have any hangar textures, only the e...
