Re: Tales from the spacelanes...

For the Hardheads, I either inject away, activate my cloaking device for a bit, or try to hit it with the lasers. I can't recall (& am too lazy to search) but one of the myriad of OXPs I have installed has something called a barakas barrier missile which will wait patiently while you're cloaked...

Re: Tales from the spacelanes...

the cloaking device is one of the core quests. I think it has to do with a certain galaxy and shooting, but yeah, good luck.

Get* one of those silly ships with the plasma turrets on the side (the Caduceus Genitalia is a good one, yeah). You'll find it handy to pull along side an enemy & match velocity, and once you get better, add the side laser to the show. * I mean for fun, you know. The Xarik is a cheap way to buy ...

Re: Science Fiction Trivia

This modern novel tells the tale of a human race cast into the stars as a virus decimated the population and turned the rest into something...different. The danger is not over, though, as something dark and hidden threatens mankind's very soul... (note: I haven't actually read this, but it came up ...

Re: Miss Wing Commander? ...

The PS2 port of Star Wars Battlefront II had a fun, un-realistic space-fight mode. The rest of the game was a typical one-eyed blind fart jump & shoot turkey. Switching between Oolite & pioneer is a hoot, though. Newtonian space combat is brain warping. Good thing it skips the realism of try...

Re: Press Release: Kestros

It's those tiny ships, the sunracers & ferdies, that are the best pirates. Horrible little things to pick off from any distance longer than about 8km. Hopefully this one isn't going to be a cake-walk at 16km. ;)

Re: (NEW RELEASE) SniperCameraSystemv1.oxp

Mediafire is refusing to cough up the download because I'm not logged into Facebook, or something. Trying it in /usr/local/bin/lynx gives some interesting options. None of which download the file, obviously. (/usr/local/bin/links as well) The disturbing line(s) that make(s) me suspect that m...

Re: [WIP] Xeptatl's Sword

I'm ashamed to say it took me 30 seconds to get that... I was too busy trying to work out what the initials stood for to actually look at the whole name itself! You might find this quite interesting then! :) I still don't get what "Titriotsrj" is supposed to mean. Is it a bawdy joke about...

But at least it will be fun to fly in a Constitution class ship. Might be nice to shoot one, too (though it'd be most fun to expend my wrath on the Enterpoop-D or maybe even the Space-Mulgrew). On the gripping hand, tangling with a gang of hairless apes who can hit you with pinpoint accuracy at sev...

Re: Famous Planets Liners.oxp

Regarding FP Liners, I almost finished a name-gen for it this morning so that instead of 4 different coloured, but nameless ships, I have a fleet of 429 individually named ships. Names range from the bureaucratic "Tianve Arrow" for one of the white ones to "Pussycat's Passion" f...

Re: OT - configuring XWindows

When I boot into Linux, however, I now don't even get a desktop. In both cases, I get past the boot loader, then the screen goes black then cycles through a random selection of colours (i.e. all black, then all red, all cyan, all yellow etc). There's no particular pattern to the colours, and hittin...
