Thanks for the info - I just wish that this sort of thing was more visible to new users. I wouldn't have guessed that the suffix .package meant it was a script.

Hi All, Well, I've taken the advice dispensed here, and decided to load up 1.72 - I'm currently on 1.65. Being something of newbie to Linux (Ubuntu 8.10 acksherly), my previous install came via the package manager, which was of course a piece of piss. Now, though, I've got my 1.72.x86.package bundle...
