Now, come on, lads - you're all talking as if the Moon was REAL!

I'm sure I remember playing about with the fuel variable. My aging memory seems to tell me that if you change it to, say, 100 (ie 10 light years), you can still jump only seven, but you end up with 3 LYsworth in your tank - and it does work on a player ship. I always thought it might be a worthwhile...

Even if you could and did photograph the tracks on the Moon, you couldn't win. The Great Conspiracy mode of questioning would pop up. "Where did you get that photo?" "Hubble" "How do you know that?" "Errrm, because NASA and Patrick Moore told me" "They're...

I'm a little uneasy about this discussion. Surely, the whole point is that Oolite is not and never has been merely a shoot 'em up. You start out with nil skills and hardware to match, and the aim of the game, initially, is to use your head to build up the missing skills whilst also building up the m...

Find more memory

Hi all ...

Thought maybe some of you would be interested in this ...

...which is free and, what's more, appears to work. I gained almost 200MB of memory back for Oolite to run in - and it's got rid of a few of the dreaded judders.

Well, if you're going for auto-ECM, there are bigger attacks to worry about too. How about a SERIOUS warning for a Quirium detonation?

Mike

PS On the other hand, how far can you take a combat computer before you've effectively turned your ship into the ubership of all time?

I tweak as often as I can (but my eyesight is weakening). What the Hell - if you have a tweakable OXP, what's wrong with tweaking it?

I'm happy for you. But I'd still download Notepad++ - it handles Oolite files like a dream.

THis may be a red herring, but I used to have editing problems when using Notepad. They were all solved by downloading Notepad++

Disgusting.

Unfortunately, there are no neo-fascist systems in Oolite to which I can transfer my allegiance.

All I know is that Mandingo was a novel (by Kyle Onstott, but I may be wrong there) about a slave in the US. I read it in my teens and can't remember much about it that would sit well in a porn supermarket. Or was I a very naive teenager? Point is that it looks like Mandingo may have a host of conno...

Xrumer has one purpose in existing - it's a spambot of a particularly clever kind. There's a good article on Wikipedia.

I hate to take you guys back to the point, but I've just come across a wonderful example. There I was having contentedly strolled into a new system, bumbling along towards the navigation beacon. One blip appeared on my scanner and, after a couple of seconds, turned red. OK, I thought, so be it ... a...

Ubership or not?

OK, I'll come clean. I'm flying around in a way-beyond-spec Imp. Courier (lots of energy banks, increased cargo space, pimped-up speed etc.). This is principally because I fell in love with the Courier in the days of Frontier and that other one. So, an iron-ass Ubership. My particular thing is, I ha...
