Numerically, you can see your ship wear/depreciation factor in your savegame. A new savegame starts out with <key>ship_trade_in_factor</key> <integer>95</integer> as Cmdr James said, once this drops below 75 or so, you are given the option to overhaul for 1% of your ship's total value, restoring you...

The Wiz is still made by the same dodgy asian company who make the GP2X. It just seems like a GP2X with a faster CPU and D-pad. Don't get me wrong, it's a fun console, but could do with a bit more power, and a decent dev team. I only just found out today that the GP2X has actually been discontinued ...

You're looking NES Elite, in a NES emulator, on my GP2X. A GP2X is a handheld gaming console, similar in size to a Nintendo DS, that is designed for homebrew gaming. It runs Linux, has dual 200Mhz ARM CPUs, uses SD cards as storage, and is powered by AA batteries (or AC adaptor, which you can see on...

Actually, I own a Zune 80, and it's a really decent media player. Big bright glass screen, great controls, lightweight, wifi, 25 hour battery life, and far superior sound quality to my iPod Video. Just a pity the Microsoft-only software sucks so much, I got sick of using XP with USB proxy in Virtual...

Awesome in-game stories
Following on from Simon B's dogfight here , I thought I'd make a thread for sharing in-game happenings that just make you love Oolite even more. The other day I was hunting the Constrictor. I'd jumped galaxies and was hot on the trail. Popped out of hyperspace and BAM, there he was, right in my face...

Particularly viper-pursuit craft should occasionally chase a fugitive through witchspace. Same with hunters, and aggressive pirates. I beg to differ. A Viper is a system craft. Police from one jurisdiction do not chase criminals into other jurisdictions. But they will radio ahead, this is where you...

If you go through the mission code, there are indeed about 6 planets that provide you a specific clue as to where the Constrictor is, all in sequence. All planets are supposed to have a vague hint on the F7 screen. I think the idea is to go about your business, and if you're lucky you'll pick up the...

Autobuild package working fine on Ubuntu 8.04. To upgrade from the 1.65 version in the repositories: sudo apt-get remove oolite oolite-data chmod +x oolite-1.72.x86.package sudo ./oolite-1.72.x86.package The shortcut may break, or not appear in the Menu at all. To run, use /usr/bin/oolite , which is...
