Fuel Scoops for Cargo on 1.72

Was playing the 1.65 version - now upgraded to 1.72 I've noticed that when scooping for cargo, sometimes it can take 30s (as per 1.65) to get cargo into the hold - but now cargo can just get 'dropped' after a number of seconds - not collected, and I have to slow down and go back for it. This never h...

This sounds like you've butchered your Hardy Heron install... Smile I think so too ;) This evening I did a 'stock' Ubuntu 8.04 (64bit) install using my vmware-workstation. Following your instructions (and using oolite-data 1.72) I managed to get a perfect compile and running 1.73 oolite on my vmwar...

Yep, you are right Commander ;) I sort of thought so myself when I saw:- src/Core/OOCocoa.h:223: error: cannot find interface declaration for ‘NSObject’ The 'NSObject' smacked of GNUstep - but at nearly 1am I was too tired to confirm it. This morning I cleaned and re-compiled GNUstep modules from so...

After getting the correct 64bit header file defined, I then do step(4) and then determine my 'gnustep-make' version. It's 2.0.2-1 so I edit the 'GNUmakefile.postamble' file, update the ifeq/endif. Then try to 'make debug=no' and it fails immediately... root@patb-desktop:/usr/local/src/oolite/1.72-ma...

Re: Galaxy 2 - places to go- must see...

Any secrets to share when in galaxy 2? Found the Naval Energy Unit at Ramaan. Any other goodies to find/ buy/ missions to do? I'm at Ramaan now...no Naval Energy Units here  Ok - forgive the dumb question, but do you have to complete a mission or reach a certain rank before N.E.U. can be bough...

I'm trying to build 1.72 Maintenance branch on Ubuntu 8.04 AMD 64 bit. WRT page 1 - all is fine upto step 3, but then it fails at step3 root@patb-desktop:/usr/local/src/oolite/1.72-maintenance/deps/Cross-platform-deps/SpiderMonkey/js/src# make -f Makefile.ref cat: ../../dist/Linux_All_DBG.OBJ/nspr/V...

Thanks for taking time for a (good) explanation Commander! After a detailed read of your README.rtf it makes more sense to me, esp. regarding 'offender','fugitive' statuses. Maybe those Military Shield at 32k were worth a punt after all  But I still think market prices (goods) at better at the...

Ok - I've updated my post and put the planet names in ROT13.

I sort of assumed my mission ending at the final planet was random and other Constrictor mission wouldn't end up at exactly the same place

Got him !!! 8) http://img16.imagevenue.com/loc972/th_30510_constrictor_done_122_972lo.jpg I tried to go via RFTROV to get closer to BENEEN in terms of fuel, but after battling my way to RFTROV (multi-government) there was not hint with F7 (i.e. still saying he was at BENEEN). So I re-loaded from HFY...

That's what I'm getting on F7 for ALL planets within 7.0LY radius. Just the message, "There's a real deadly pirate out there." :? I'm going back to the system where I spotted him now. UPDATE: Ah ha..returned to HFYREV after a brief trip to ERPRKRYN/DHRQYR (good trading planets; as recommen...

I tried to use 'j' but got 'mass-locked' with another craft - so it was a non-starter. Only injectors ('i') could have zipped me nearer :(

Now all I'm getting is this:-
"There's a real deadly pirate out there."
...which doesn't really give me any clues as to which system he's in

Argghh..lost it ..it zipped away at speed - and I had no fuel left to follow  UPDATE(2) All planet names (capitals) have been encrypted (spoilers). Go here:- http://ww...

Yup - I was tempted with that price for Military Shields, but declined. On the whole the 'salvage gang' asteroid doesn't really offer much - worth it if you need fuel, but other equipment is too expensive or too dodgy to use. Market prices are not good either. Unless you're desperate, not worth dock...
