The issue I found with the UV map was that the triangular sections were all positioned slightly differently, meaning that section couldn't have anything structured drawn on it because it would be partly hanging off on the others, and a new layout could make better use of scale/resolution if I rememb...

Basic proposal - unskinned:
Image

The default rock-hermit dock is a hexagonal prism.
I was thinking of putting large rectangular panels along the walls but I suppose I can go for exposed structure.

That coriolis is in the neolite core pack (fingers crossed) - if it aint, then its in my old HDD Hey Simon, I still have the originals on mine, if you wanted me to do the other stations So you are breaking your silence on this then? the reason I didn't do much with them the last time was due to the...

@ Simon B A Simon B rock-hermit would be great! please do whip one up if you get the time, do you also have any of the stations done? I saw another attempt and thought: I can do that better. :) I can do the interior with lights like you tend to. (its just a box so I figure you'd find that easy.) i ...

Splitting the mouth over the center ridge is the right thing to do. I'd have experimented with putting the mouth under the hull myself. Mouth under = shark Mouth same side as eyes = japanese face kite. (possibility - do one in yellow with a smiley?) Les see ... I can probably manage a rock-hermit to...

FDL model and textures

Right! I hunted down and archived the progress so far - find it at: http://www.hbclinux.net.nz/oolite/griff-fdl.zip Be warned: 8.9MiB - I included the wings model as well as the wavefront - the texture pngs, but also the photoshop-format which has the layers. This is so griff can pick out the ones h...

Custom paint and decals will work well for ships in mission oxps like black baron.

I'll clean up the fer-de-lance model and textures and bundle them for griffs attention.

That mamba looks like it borrowed a bit from my suggestion at the back there ... would griff like the gecko model? I can probably mod it to echo that mamba.

Give it a week for me to polish off actual Work work.

Vintage Neolite ... from ADCK (needs to go in the wiki). Re-ads the classic models to the game. I'm too lazy to write a shipdata-replace.plist - if someone will do one for me, and also edit the names in the neolite shipdata.plist, then I'll use it. The donkeywork is with all the escorts. I have som...

Oh yes - I saw the gallery.
And the link in the wiki points at the latest ships - which have not changed for months. Not likely to soon either, I'm afraid. I should be able to provide the models and skin work-so-far I've done for griff ships though.

Oh dear I am soo depressed - there has been no development. This is the issue: 1. my old machine died - things like the navy/behemoth oxp are on its HDD so I need an enclosure to get at them. 2. I am doing a 2nd masters (education) which is eating time 4. I've been doing a lot of political stuff, li...

That's the spirit.
The real trick would be to put the red lines into the active camo shader or something similar so they craws all over the hull ;)

It may be a useful thing then, to have a "supressor.oxp" which simply removes the classic ships from the game (via shipdata-replace) so that people who want a totally rethemed game can easily achieve this while the multivarient crowd can just pile on all the variety they want? It also mean...
