Re: The Feudal States

Strange, I'm running 1.80 and the Prinz are a pushover. I guess it's about tactics... The duel starts at some ~5 km distance, so if you hit injectors the moment he goes hostile, the Prinz won't have time to land significant damage before you get to close range. And AI isn't smart enough to cut throt...

Re: Get Rich Quick

How about we go the other way around and make the game harder as your score and bank account go up? A Jameson that's using his brand new injectors to get away won't be worth the effort for a pirate pack, but a juicy, well known trader might be worth pursuing and ganging upon. A docking officer might...

Re: The Feudal States

I've played around this a bit...if I might suggest: The entry for challenges. There should be levels, requiring suffucient amount of opponents defeated and elite ranking. It makes no sense for an Elite fighter with 3000 kills to accept challenge from mr. Harmless Jameson. But this is exactly what ca...

Re: Introduce Yourself.

This is kind of re-introduction. I've been around sometimes around 1.6x-early 1-7x versions, played and messed around...but time, as well as my aging laptop, unable to cope with OXP flood, eventually made me play less and less... As time went on, I bought a new laptop, and a few days ago I pulled my...

Is it just me or do SF ships look remarkably similar in style to Star Trek ships? Especially those green would actually fit into Romulan fleet...

looks interesting, however....is it supposed to be asteroid hitting a stationary ship, or flying ship hitting an asteroid? Impact angle suggest the first option, however it is quite unlikely....

Re: Life on meteorite ?

Unfortunate truth, it also might be just a big scream for attention. I took a bit reading upon the subject, including looking at author himself. It is not the first time Dr. Hoover published something like this, and his previous claims have been debunked by NASA. Also, couple things do raise suspici...

Re: Life on meteorite ?

Oh well, I was a little off :D Anyway, it is unlikely that any natural phenomena could just "launch" anything to orbit, unless it was collision with major celestial body (it is speculated that, when Earth was still mostly molten, it collided with another forming planet, ejecting a part of ...

Re: Life on meteorite ?

Actually, the summary of Sarin is very accurate. In addition to Sarin hypothesis, bacteria have been shown to survive in the higher atmosphere. These bacteria are already showing some diversity. I am a little afraid that it could be another possibility: what if these meteorites have not been contam...

Re: Life on meteorite ?

Quite an interesting thingie... I've skimmed the article, and to sum it up a bit for those that don't wanna read it... Study of CI1 carbonaceous chondrites, a rare class of meteorites, mostly those that impacted within last 200 years, revealed so called "strong biomarkers", molecules that ...

Re: [OXP idea] Faster regenerating shields

Hm. Is it possible to alter shield strength too now? I was thinking...ships like Kirin should definitely have bigger shields than Cobby MKIII, tho maybe at the cost of decreased regeneration. And small ships should have lighter shields....
