Re: Advise me on buying a laptop for Oolite?!

Please JazHaz - don't buy Dell... (They should not be encouraged!) I'm disappointed to hear that Dell has dropped so much. My first ever laptop was a Dell Inspiron 8100, bought end 2002 in Australia. It's still mostly working (the ethernet port can take up to 20 minutes to start up these days; I'm ...

Re: player ship docking and immediate re-launching

Looking at the code, if you launch the ship in the 'shipWillDock' event handler, it -should- work.

In fact, if you do it by the time the 'shipDocked' event handler fires, a lot of the docking logic has already been performed, such as repacking the manifest.

Re: Old hardware.

I -may- still have some old gfx cards lying around (I was trying to ebay some off recently, can't remember what sold and what stayed). If you post the interface (PCI, AGP, ...) I'll have a look.

That same error message is harmlessly (AFAICT) displayed on various Linux boxes as well. That's not to say it's harmless in your case though!

Yes, the SVN version in trunk should be updated. My oversight.

What about when it's not in beacons mode? Do you mean moves backwards through the list of possible compass targets, or just the list of beacons?
All targets, beacons or otherwise.

Re: Progress

Moving on from the now-no-longer-MNSR (aka, 1.76), and moving onto the Next Unstable Release (aka 1.77 (WiP)):

* Reverse Advanced Compass Controls:
The '|' key (ie, Shift-\ on US/UK keyboards) now moves backwards through the list of beacons. This key can be remapped, as per usual.

Re: [Release] Shaderfied Sungs Textures

I've created a fixed version of this OXP to remove all the Logfile errors and suchlike as ADCK has indicated he will no longer work on OXPs here as per this thread. Also, it fixes the prices of all ships to be the same as the core ships, and removes player-versions of ships which are non-playable in...

Re: [RELEASE] Zeke Mining Transporter 0.1.1

Hm, I think that is due to some other oxp in your game like RS or Shady Sung's or such ? That was exactly it - Shady Sung's (possibly others, but that is a major culprit). Why the bleep OXP authors just copy & paste the shipdata when all they want to do is re-skin (or slightly tweak) the origin...

Re: [RELEASE] Zeke Mining Transporter 0.1.1

Hey Capt Patrick,

One more comment on this OXP: the miner transporter is IMHO too expensive. I can immediately sell it and trade up to a reasonably-kitted out CobraMk1 or similar, which kindof defeats the purpose of starting off from almost nothing.

Cheers,
- Micha.

Re: runScreen not always firing when expected to

Also, why are you still using 1.75.3 for OXP development instead of 1.76?

Re: [RELEASE] Zeke Mining Transporter 0.1.1

Argh, my bad. I rejigged the code and added comments before uploading to pastebin, forgetting that in Javascript you have to declare before you use. And thanks for picking up the capitalisation error, Wildeblood. As it turns out, it never got executed anyway due to a misunderstanding I had about mis...

Re: [RELEASE] Zeke Mining Transporter 0.1.1

On the C64 version everything was randomly generated around the player. While it's possible the algorithm was skewed to generate more asteroids closer to the sun I can't remember that being the case. The script I posted has the Hermit most likely between Witchpoint-Planet, then Planet-Sun, and least...
