The idea of the load-order priority would be that: 1. If load-order is unimportant for an OXP, nothing is specified and Oolite chooses the middle value of a pre-arranged range. eg. 0 from -100 to +100. 2. If load-order -is- important, the OXP author will have hopefully chosen a reasonable value, ide...

and the fix (AAA or ZZZ'ing the files) a little clunky. Not just clunky, it won't (necessarily) work. Renaming the OXP directories does NOT GUARANTEE that OXPs are loaded in any particular order. It depends purely on the OS (and/or the filesystem) as to what order the OXPs are loaded in. It may wel...

Wow. To see those 'grey figures' I had to ramp my gamma up to over 2x (which of course blows my entire screen for normal use). With my defaults, all I could see on his screenshot was 1 faint star. No wonder I keep thinking Oolite has been -way- too dark since 1.72 or whenever if everybody else can o...

But the point about simplifying the docking computer controls stands. If no-one objects I'll hack that in this week. I'm definitely not objecting! Go for it, Micha! :) As of last night, a draft revamp is in trunk for anybody who wants to try it out (should have been built by the various nightlies b...

Do you have the latest drivers for your graphics card? In particular, are you running the open-source or binary drivers? Odd that you still get the splash screen though - I just tested with current versions and the --nosplash switch works fine for me. If you get the urge to try again, after installi...

Oh dear, it does sound as if things have gotten a bit messed up. First up, remove the Oolite debian sources from your package manager. Make sure that includes the gnustep one you added. Then in the package manager, purge the oolite packages, if any are still installed, AND all of the gnustep package...

Are you insane? That is one area where I'm okay with losing the immersion factor. Shift+D is your friend! Are -you- insane?!? Shift-D is cheating! Docking clearance plus only docking when your speed is in the green range is the way to go... *g* As Cmdr McLane already said - the beauty of Ooli...

You can dock at non-main stations with the docking computer too. I think it's Shift-C or something. You may have to target it with 'R' or 'T' first though. This actually raises a small question - why do we need a different keystroke to dock at a non-main station? It would seem to be a simplification...

I find tapping the keys works well to maintain the right amount of roll. You can practice with the Lave Academy, just enter it with speed close to zero and practice maintaining the roll. Or for that matter any station, approach from a long distance off at slow speed and just practice matching the ro...
