Re: NPC bounty calculation faulty

That is probably an oversight due to the fact that until shortly, NPC's couldn't mis-jump. It will be fixed shortly. TBH, I'm not entirely sure why a misjump shouldn't reduce your bounty. Or why the bounty should be exactly halved on each successful jump. Surely it should degrade based on time and p...

Jus FYI:

While it wont make it into Stable, if you could add any scripting requirements that'd be fab.

Re: missing textures, which OXP?

In general, grep is your friend: $ cd [your AddOn's folder] $ grep -r -i -l "[search string]" * That will list all files matching the search string (and hence identifies all the OXPs containing the string). -r - recursive (Omit to search only current directory) -i - ignore case (Omit for c...

Re: Hello!...First post...Wow!...Thankyou and Questions!...

When doing the Thargoid Plans mission on C64 Elite, I 'cheated' as I had loads of spare credits at that stage: instead of laboriously fighting my way through waves of Thargoid warships from Witchpoint to Station/Sun to refuel, I simply ejected as soon as I witchspaced into a system, bought a new esc...

Re: Passenger/cargo contracts cease to exist

I've finally also had a quick look now and I also think it's just down to random chance. Having the Griff shipset installed modifies the chances of ships being offered for sale. It sets all built-in ships to 0 chance, so there's twice as many ships to choose from than default, but half of them won't...

Re: Passenger/cargo contracts cease to exist

Hi Blipvert, and welcome to the friendliest board this side of Riedquat! If you have 2 saves, one of which has the problem and the other doesn't, send them over and I can take a look at what's going on. Cheers, - Micha. <edit> PS: If you upload your save-files somewhere and post a link, then whoever...

Re: Get some perspective...

Always liked this joke/urban legend/whatever: http://www.pinetree.net/humor/thermodynamics.html Especially this bit: As for souls entering hell, let's look at the different religions that exist in the world today. Some of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, then you...

Re: Coming Clean!

However, it's not a government official, but the news bulletin of iNews , who may well be the 32nd century equivalent of the Sun , for all we know. Ah, good point, my apologies. And certainly all for consistency esp. if the iNews headlines have been used before. Amnesty means both. In the wo...

Re: Coming Clean!

I would advice against using multiple exclamation marks - it reads more like script-kiddy than government official, IMHO. Also, amnesty means that they will not be prosecuted during the terms of this deal, it's not something to strike the record clean afterwards. The reward might be better worded &q...

Re: JS "this" question

I got the error message after that line, and just understood why. At first I had accidentally only typed one '=', so I was actually setting my variable to null . No wonder that it was null afterwards. This is actually quite a common programming error and, depending on circumstances, quite difficult...

Re: Good thing I'm no longer a teenager...

I think (apart from the obvious anti-competitive behaviour) it's might be to do with the fact that the built-in browser can be controlled via the parental controls settings. Not sure third-party apps have the same restrictions (never having owned an ipod/iphone, however I recently purchased one as a...

Please do send a patch if you've got one - anything to improve compatibility as long as it doesn't break existing systems! :)
