Could it be Merchant of Venus?
Yup. And since they don't sell zippers in that game (you can get Yellow Drives, Red Drives, even Combined Drives, but not ZIP Drives), I'll have to hand this one on to you. 8)

Re: Science Fiction Trivia

First clue: This board game may sound like it was inspired by Elite, but the creator said the origins were much closer to home.

Second clue: The name of the game is almost Shakespearean.

Re: Science Fiction Trivia

Gor it is! Congrats, a scantily clad virtual slave girl will bring you the zipper... Slave 1 or Slave 2? If black wine is being served, I expect handing me the zipper would be one of the First Slave's many duties, since the Second Slave is the one who does the pouring rather than setting out the se...

Re: Science Fiction Trivia

Still nobody... ok, three clues 1: Black Wine is better known by another name on Earth. 2: But I'm looking for another answer than Earth. 3: It's possible that some of you know but don't want to admit it, given the source. 1. Yes, it's called "coffee". 2. It's called "Black Wine"...

Awesome, can't wait to read it:)

The paperbacks are gorgeous but if Kindle's more your thing I'll be the last to say no. 8)

Re: Science Fiction Trivia

Well, after looking around a bit I've been unable to confirm that Changeling (sword from C J Cherryh's "Morgaine" series) is intelligent, so even if the series counted as science fiction I've got nothing.

Re: Science Fiction Trivia

Majel Barrett-Roddenberry (née Majel Leigh Hudec) played the unnamed first officer in the original series pilot "The Cage"; she then went on to play Nurse Chapel in Star Trek , and Diana Troi's mother Lwaxana Troi in Star Trek: TNG . Right on all counts. Another answer was Diana Muldaur, ...

Re: Science Fiction Trivia

I'll give you a Trek clue then: For both actresses, one of their roles involved being based in Sickbay. Also, for both actresses the roles were in the Original Series and TNG.

As to the other one, you'll just have to buy the book.

Re: Science Fiction Trivia

Okay then, take your pick of either of the following questions: 1) In the amazingly good space adventure novel Claymore Mine , by an author who has been mentioned favourably in the same breath as Robert Heinlein and E. E. "Doc" Smith, what is unusual about the battle between The Black Bear...
