Thanks Norby!
Indeed, I'd also suggest giving the all-in-one solution a go.
However, it's still strange that the download from the play store does not work. Is your wireless lan enabled? Have you tried rebooting your Android device? (I know it sounds silly, but it helps occassionally).
Good luck!

Re: WebGL effort
In Alite, I ran across the same problem, and in the end, I copied the approach from "Celestia" (http://www.shatters.net/celestia/): They use "depth buckets", which is essentially similar to cim's idea. You order your objects by z and iterate over them (farthest away from the came...

Re: Alite is here
I have put the sources of Alite online: https://github.com/CmdrStardust/Alite So, if you want to take parts of it and make an oxp from them: Be my guest :). The license of Alite is GPL (v3). I am planning on writing a set of tutorials on the architecture of the source code and the main ideas behind ...

Re: Alite is here
I've just uploaded Alite 1.1 --- the Blue Danube remix by Chris Huelsbeck is now in the game as well... Some minor bugfixes have found their way into this version, too. Controller support is NOT in it (yet). Nexus 9 users, however, must still use this version from the web-site: http://alite.mobi/sit...

Re: Alite is here
No, there's no exit option in Alite. Pushing home will pause Alite. If you want to remove it from memory, you'll have to swipe it from the 'currently running apps' view.

Re: Alite is here
Hrrr... Ok, forget trimming... I'm uploading a new set of recorded videos right now (it'll take about an hour or so). You can find them in the media section, once the upload is complete (http://alite.mobi/media). The sound quality is actually a little better than before, so I think they're alright :...

Re: Alite is here
Hey! -- Thanks for spreading the word -- and more importantly: Thanks for liking the game. That's what it was made for... I'm glad you're enjoying it!! I have recorded some videos for the non-Android users and will post them on the alite.mobi website, if I can manage to cut them (without losing audi...

Re: Alite is here
Thanks, Selezen! I think the download numbers are only updated daily; according to my stats, Alite currently has "around 10" installations -- and the stats run until August, 4th; _before_ I released Alite. So, this only accounts for alpha testers, I assume... Still: Go download it, go have...

Re: Alite is here
@ffutures: Thanks for bringing Alite to fanlore; I'll see what I can do to add something. You can use any material from the alite.mobi site, of course. Regarding the Cobra, you are, unfortunately, right :). I always thought of making other ships available at --- certain places --- but I never got ar...

Re: Alite is here
I'm ok with Oolite for Android of course, but for now it's important to note that Alite is more static than Oolite as it cannot be easily expanded --- for now.

Re: Alite is here
I thought about this, too, but since OXP support is currently missing, I'd say it's Elite for Android --- for now
Then again: Alite uses Oolite models and textures...

Re: Alite is here
Hmmm... I never knew oxps were developed in JS. That opens a lot of possibilities :)... Let's see how many bug reports come in, and I'll concentrate on those, but OXP support is on my list of things to do. Yaw control: Thought about it, too. It's not hard to implement either... I'm going to publish ...

Re: Alite is here
Thanks, pagroove! Glad you liked the intro... I'll see what I can do about the gameplay videos: Screen recording has always been a bit -- challenging -- with Android devices. Since Android 4.4, it became easier, though. I'm not yet sure if I can record sound, too, but I found an app that looks promi...

Re: Alite is here
@Day @another_commander Thanks!! Yeah, it feels great... Somehow, I cannot wipe the smile off my face. I really hope you like it (and I didn't include too many bugs).
