Re: Building Oolite 4 Linux

... But then, since we are building on recent linux (Ubuntu 20, meanwhile Ubuntu 22) neither tsoj nor my were able to run this on e.g. Fedora or CentOS. Right now I am unsure how to fully repeat your build structure as it would require Ubuntu 8. Github does not offer any runners with that ancient O...

Re: Building Oolite 4 Linux

... And I believe that some of the libraries - as they are compiled against or bundled from a Ubuntu 8 installation have that old glibc version as a dependency. One of which is no longer compatible with today's kernels. ... Could you, please, elaborate on that? Have we reached a distro where Oolite...

Re: Building Oolite 4 Linux

... While you are here, could you enlighten us a bit? In the past you were able to build so many versions of Oolite for so many operating systems. We tried to recreate the builds, but so far we only have success on Ubuntu/Debian latest. How did you manage so many different OS? ... To cut the long s...

connection to an external server?
there the database server listens on external IP or only on 127.0.0.1 ?
I don’t know how to login and check that on that server.
But how come your dev2 site doesn’t encounter this issue?

Re: Oolite.org down?

Hi to all. I managed to get a backup of the currently active oolite.org site. I wanted to test it before merging it into master branch and so I brought it up at http://oolite.ddns.net:8077 . However, it seems that it can't connect to ooaddons MySQL database to fetch the OXZs. I even tried from comma...

Re: Oolite.org down?

Hi y'all! The oolite.org domain status as shown at whois.com is clientHold and autoRenewPeriod . This status code tells your domain's registry to not activate your domain in the DNS and as a consequence, it will not resolve. It is an uncommon status that is usually enacted during legal disputes, non...

Re: Oolite in a Docker container

Hi Crush, I will update this post later today with a list of dependencies. However Oolite is pretty self contained bundling the libs needed and only core libs are left to the O/S to deliver. In the meantime let's gather some info. Not much of a Docker savvy myself so I'm googling myself around to se...

Re: no textures when running oolite from git repo

vaxon wrote: Tue Oct 13, 2020 1:10 am
I've installed all the dependencies and built oolite from git repo using:

Code: Select all

make
...
The correct syntax to build Oolite is make -f Makefile [target]
Example:

Code: Select all

make -f Makefile release
Try to build using this syntax and check if you still have the OXZ issue.

Re: How do I enable expansion pack download?

Hi vaxon, please, start Oolite, then try to get the OXZ list, then exit and share the Latest.log file. Could you share a few details about your system (e.g. laptop/pc, cpu, graphics card, memory)? Which Linux distro are you using? Are you behind a firewall or a proxy? How do you connect to the netwo...

Re: libjsdbg_static

A new code commit has just been pushed to the OoliteProject/oolite repository, updating the 'Makefile' file, in an attempt to address the confusion created by having the 'debug' target as default.

@dybal - Thank you for bringing this to our attention. 8)

Re: libjsdbg_static

If you are just interested in playing Oolite while experimenting with OXP development and Debug Console, I strongly suggest you get the OXP Developer release installer from http://oolite.org/download/ (check out the "OXP Developer release" download section). The latest stable release Oolit...
