I am thinking of anarchies and several of the larger oxp's that add renegade outposts and the like. The problem with this approach is then that a player may never find the little hollowed out rock far outside the spaceways and this then only adds uneccesary strain on the CPU.. I think the jumptrick is too useful to risk getting masslocked by lots of vessels outside the lanes. But I do think that its usefulness should come at a cost. There should be a good reason why the space lanes are where they are... and why ships use them in preference to more empty space. My proposal...

I thought that the "target ejected" (but not really) bug had been squashed, I have had this problem three times with the same hit now.
Running oolite 1.71.1 and RH 1.2

Gonna try upgrading to 1.71.2 and see if that changes anything. :?

Sounds like you might have video card issues, I do too. I don't see space dust, unless flying toward the sun. Clearskies.OXP can help a little, you can edit the planetinfo.plist to up the ambient level to unrealistic values... mine's at 7 (I can pick out the station now).

they do. But not as spectacular as I would have hoped. :? I was thinking more in a Q-mine kinda way... with bonus fuel pods to be scooped afterwards! In my mind, they should not need escorts, and because they have (literally) fuel to burn... they should run on the sunskimmers route, from star to WP...

And you can get rid of some of those missions (or at least put them aside). Some missions are galaxy specific (assassins, Black Baron, long way round etc), so you only need to include them when you arrive in that galaxy (check their documentation for specifics). If you really want to keep the shipya...
