i've often wondered about that. I've always sort of assumed that the lane goes towards the planet then sort of bends towards the station as you get closer.

sorry for the confusion, that's what i meant :)

if you install all the OXPs except the problem ones in Lestradae's list then oolite will be able to read what's left with the new parser.

hmm... perhaps a 'go to bed and come back the next day option' could reroll all the dice and increment the date?

actually, i minor moan - on the first hit the 3rd item is 'accept the contract', but on the 2nd and 3rd hits it's the 1st option. could you change this to make it consistant please :)

it's only possible to save at the main station as it's the only station that's guarenteed to be there when the game next loads. Imagine saving at a hoopy casino, exitting the game, removing the casino OXP, restarting the game and loading your save. It wouldn't be able to put you where you were becau...

well, it's not going to be possible to do it perfectly or map makers would have an easy life! what i mean is that you could use a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mollweide_projection to get very close. That's going to be hard work to sort out so a very simple approximation would be to rotate the textur...

could you store the results of the dice rolls whilst the player is docked? Then clear them when they leave to prevent the save file being full of dice rolls. Is there some sort of volatile storage you could use so it wouldn't get into the save file at all?

how does random hits decide what ship the target is in? Does it check if you have that ship installed? My last two hits were in a Wolf Mk2 and in Imperial Courier. I didn't think I had these installed and couldn't find either of them at the system they were meant to be. The second time I was shootin...

hmm... sounds like the navy AI needs to be a bit more agressive harvesting those tharglets.

And I should remember to misjump more often. 70 kills in one jump means only 20 jumps to reach Elite :)

slightly on this topic - planets textured with a bitmap (ie not procedurally generated ones) suffer from pinching at the poles as a square texture doesn't fit on a round surface. So could the relevant routing cut out a suitably shaped piece of the texture so it fits perfectly?

trident down requires about 6 other OXPs, maybe you've removed one of the ones it needs... Check ramirez's site for the list.

I think it's safe to say that Oolite is able to read them happily using the new parser so future versions will be able to read them.

But just because they can be read doesn't mean they don't have other bugs...
