Not necessarily, if it is super rare. Like maybe all kinds of things have to happen at the same time for the bug to surface. I don't remember experiencing it ever before and I played plenty of hours of Oolite.richard.a.p.smith wrote:If it's vanilla bug then surely it should be more widely reported, no?

Re: unwinnable battle with the navy?
Yes, I was considering that. Actually I always keep a q-bomb on me... but I thought that the friendly ships would be caught in the blast for sure. Even before the battle starts, the two fleets are fairly close to each other.

Re: empty cargo container or no "bang" when ramming it
So it looks like something wrong with a "filled" pod in one of the OXPs perhaps, or something else like you're trying to scoop with a full cargo hold. The latter is definitely not the case. I had 33 tons of cargo in the 55 ton bay. Would it be so impossible that it is bug in the vanilla? ...

Re: empty cargo container or no "bang" when ramming it
Can you post your Latest.log? ...at least to show all the installed OXPs and any error messages with them. OK, so here it is: 20:06:13.864 [log.header]: Opening log for Oolite version 1.76.1 (x86-64 test release) under Linux at 2012-07-02 20:06:13 -0500. 6 processors detected. Build options: spoken...

Re: empty cargo container or no "bang" when ramming it
Excuse me for my ignorance, but where do I find it? I use Linux if that matters, but Oolite is installed in user space.

Re: unwinnable battle with the navy?
My first love in space sim genre was the MS Space Simulator, whose physics were quite real (although not perfect), and I thought that no inertia would bother me, but in the end, I think it makes the game that much more playable ;). Well, I think the battles in Frontier were quite great. Especially ...

Re: empty cargo container or no "bang" when ramming it
Using 1.76.1, I get the same bug. About 5 or 6 pods from the same vessel (I guess). I scoop them, scooper works (gives sound), no bang, cargo pod disappears, and I get no message, and no new cargo. I'm positive.

Re: unwinnable battle with the navy?
Thank you so much for the overwhelming support and friendlyness! Before joining the Navy I though I was a pretty good fighter with 900+ kills, and I had Military Laser on Front and Rear. I haven't learned to fight with the sides; I didn't realize people do that. Also, the system the battle happened ...

unwinnable battle with the navy?
Hi, I've been playing Oolite for a while, and as many of us, I started 25 years ago with Elite. This is my first post on the board. Anyway, I'm playing my second Navy mission, and the battle that I'm requested to assist in seems impossible to win. After killing 3-4 thargoids, I find that 5 or 6 come...
